This load screen is common to both the Crossword puzzle and Wordsearch puzzle games
The Crossword puzzle game starts by prompting the player for their name.
The Crossword puzzle game runs in a window and uses smaller windows where needed
Here the player has selected the very last puzzle the game has to offer and is choosing their preferred colour scheme
The start of a puzzle. Clues can be selected either from the list on the right or by clicking on the start celli n the crossword grid
The game can be paused but that causes the grid to be hidden so there's no cheating
The player enters their solution into the box in the upper right It is placed into the grid either by clicking on the adjacent icon or by pressing ENTER
The game will not let the player insert an incorrect answer
Crossword puzzles can me saved The default save name is "player id's new game" but this can be changed
The high score table is displayed when a crossword puzzle is completed
Crosswords can be printed in three different ways
An example of a supplied wordsearch puzzle
The player can change the look of the game via the settings icon, that's the red screwdriver in the lower right
One of the alternate colour schemes that is available I'd only use this if I wanted to make the game harder
Creating a puzzle The first stage is to enter all the words that are to be hidden in the grid. Here a selection of the usual suspects has been used
Creating a puzzle After entering the list of words the software is asked to place them onto the grid. It's when the puzzle is named and saved that the remaining cells are filled in
Puzzles can be printed for later use This user created puzzle was saved in .xps format
