Adrenaline Vault, The (AVault)
First and foremost, this is a solid racing game. There’s a good variety of tracks, a large number of cars and excellent physics. The graphics are above par, and it’s genuinely fun to play. Hardcore Mercedes-Benz fans will fall in love with World Racing because it allows them to put vintage vehicles and prototype models through their paces. A few flaws keep it from attaining a higher rating, however. Sometimes, during the single-player mode, the lack of a storyline makes the whole thing seem like an interactive commercial. The absence of LAN or Internet multiplayer is also disappointing. My impressions are still good, though, especially of the Free Ride mode, which introduces leisurely driving to a genre that’s usually about white knuckles and spectacular wrecks.
