In conclusion, I found Worms 2 to be fun, fun, fun. If you want a good game with a lot of replayability, this is the game for you. Once it gets a hold of you it won’t let you go. But be warned, if you have a problem with staying up late and not getting much sleep then you might want to stay away from this title. The single player missions will keep you busy for awhile but you really haven’t played the game until you get on the net and play against others all over the world. That is where the game really scores high.

Worms. The downtrodden, the disgusting, the delinquents of the food chain. For years they've been pushed aside, swept under the carpet, and scraped off the boot. With Worms 2, those meaningless Annelids make a brave crawl forward. Join them in their quest for respect, ammunition, and dung. A highly recommended game, for any gamer.

Worms är förstås väldigt begränsat. Det är inte många som sätter sig och spelar det här ensamma. Det här är verkligen något man ska spela med sina vänner. Helst ska man spela det sent på kvällen, timme efter timme. Först då blir det ett riktigt bra spel.

The simple rules and basic control structure make it a game that anyone can learn to play in about five minutes.

Worms 2 es mucho mejor que su antecesor y mucho más jugable, por lo que sólo nos queda esperar que el nuevo producto "Aún más duro y aún más rosa" de Team 17 tenga tanto éxito como el original.

Schon faszinierend, wie mich die kleinen Pixelknubbel erneut in ihren Bann geschlagen haben. Waffen-, Landschafts- und Wurmeditor sind nette Beigaben, mein Enthusiasmus rührt aber mehr vom praktisch unveränderten, schlicht-genialen Spielprinzip her. Der Solomodus ist für ein Stündchen ganz okay, seinen Kultstatus hat Worms aber vom schadenfrohen Mehrspielermodus. Mich wurmts nur, daß kaum eine der frischen Waffen wirklich neues bietet. Gesteigert hat Team 17 hauptsächlich deren Durchschlagskraft; mir persönlich machen aber schlichte Handwaffenduelle um einiges mehr Spaß. Doch dafür gibt es ja schließlich die Optionsmenüs, mit denen jeder seinen eigenen Kriecher-Krieg zusammenbastelt.

Team 17 verschenkte originelle Möglichkeiten wie Waffen mit Rückschlag, Wärmer mit Spezialfähigkeiten oder herunterfallende Grafikelemente. Nichtsdestotrotz bleibt Worms 2 ein Muß für alle Fans und diejenigen, die es versäumten den ersten Teil zu kaufen.

Worms 2, which contains an entirely new code-base, takes the superb qualities of the original and piles on all the extras fans have been demanding. There are over 60 new weapons, stereo-enhanced sound effects, a myriad of tools and editors that allow players to configure nearly every aspect of the game, new characters, full-motion video, improved graphics and animation, and variable skill levels. Like all good sequels, the additions and improvements serve to polish and refine the game.

Von Worms 2 hätte ich mir mehr versprochen. Die neuen Waffen und grafischen Verbesserungen gegenüber dem Vorgängermodell sind zwar nicht zu verachten, die Arbeit der Entwickler hätte jedoch die Steuerung und vielleicht sogar das Spielprinzip zum Thema haben sollen. Vielleicht wird Worms 3 den erhofften Echtzeitmodus besitzen.

Worms 2 is een aardig tussendoortje, iets dat je even speelt als je wat tijd over hebt. Ik kan me moeilijk inbeelden dat men uren lang met Worms 2 speelt. Zeker wanneer je alleen tegen de computer speelt, wordt het spel snel eentonig. Worms 2 heeft wel de meest humoristische intro die ik ken. Voorheen bekeek ik zulke intro's één keer bij het installeren en daarna nooit meer. Bij Worms 2 krijg je elke keer een andere animatie te zien, de ene al wat lachwekkender dan de andere. Ook de handleiding (in goed en correct Nederlands) bevat de nodige humor. Dan hebben de verliezers toch iets om mee te lachen.

If you've never experienced the genre, Worms 2 will certainly prove to be fun. Before you buy this version for its Internet play, check server availability. During the review period, the only server was in the U.K., meaning slow going for gamers in North America. If you were a huge fan of the first game, and aren't worried about 'net play, don't buy this version. Just dust off your original and enjoy an old classic.
