Wrestling- Freunde bekommen einiges geboten: Alle wichtigen Stars vom Undertaker bis zu The Rock sind vertreten, inklusive Markenzeichen wie Auftrittsmusik und Finishing Moves. Mit dem Kämpfer Ihrer Wahl geht’s in Titelkämpfen, Tag-Team-Matches oder »King of the Ring«- Turnier kräftig zur Sache. Die komplexe Steuerung ist zwar etwas träge, erlaubt dafür aber auch erstaunlich viel Taktieren. Grafisch hinterlässt WWE Raw einen zwiespältigen Eindruck. Originalgetreue Stars und spektakuläre Lichteffekte gefallen – merkwürdige Animationen sowie die auf 640 mal 480 Bildpunkte begrenzte Auflösung stören dagegen. Wrestling-Fans dürfen zuschlagen.

Nine months have passed and the game has ported to the PC. What happened? Perhaps the range of system specs caused the game play to become mired in mud. Whatever is the case, WWE Raw is a plodding mess with slow control responses, slow motion animation and horrible crowd shots.

Ultimately, WWE Raw is a pretty disappointing game. It lacks many of the features that its console counterparts have, the roster is missing many key WWE superstars, and the gameplay feels sluggish and unresponsive at times. In addition, once you go through the individual title matches, the only thing that will probably keep your interest is the create-a-wrestler feature that lets you create respectable versions of a few WWE wrestlers not included in the game. Still, there really isn't enough motivation to use these characters in the actual game. If you're incredibly desperate for a PC wrestling game, and you don't own any consoles, then you might want to give Raw a try, but otherwise, you should steer clear of it.

I have a confession to make. I am a closet wrestling fan. So when THQ released the PC version of WWF Raw, I jumped all over this one like a televangelist leaps at loose change.
