Other than that glaring error in judgment, X-COM Collector’s Edition deserves a primo spot on the shelf of gamers who want to revisit one of the best computer games series of all time, or those who through some grievous error have never laid mitts on the games in the first place. Sure they’re a little creaky and old and sometimes you can’t help but laugh at how outdated they look, but the same goes for your grandpa. And you love him too, right?

Whether the package is for you really depends on how desperate you are for an X-COM experience. If you can wait, MicroProse's X-COM Genesis should be out late in 2000 (rumored, however, to be real-time only). If you just can't hold out that long, though, and you have a modern machine, then the X-COM Collector's Edition may be for you.
