Eccezionale platform, incredibilmente divertente.

Wonder Boy is without a doubt one of the best games for the Master System. Three excellent sequels followed, which I will be reviewing in the future. They're totally different than this particular game, but it's still a lot of fun to play an old title like this and find it just as good as when you remember picking it up at the store. Plus, it's one of the best games to use to compare and contrast the abilities of the SMS and NES, the former winning out this time. If you have a Master System and don't own this game, make a point to get it as soon as possible. It is easily in the top ten.

Grandissimo Platform arcade convertito molto bene.

Wonder Boy comes highly recommended to all. The game is a little rough around the edges now, the game mechanics feel rustier than it once did, but the core gameplay is still a joy to behold. This is really one of the best Master System games there is and the start of a great series. Well worth a look!

Basically, nothing more than Wonder Boy on the tiny screen. Unfortunately on the Game Gear, Drancon does not play as smoothly as on the Master System. Colors are vibrant, however, and good graphics and soundtracks make up for this otherwise slow game.

Revenge of Drancon is a good action game for the Game Gear, and should provide at least a few days of colourful platformer fun - especially if you're an Adventure Island fan, and haven’t already had your fill of the original Wonderboy.

It strikes me as odd that SEGA would select Wonder Boy as their flagship title heralding the arrival of the Master System on the Virtual Console, since Wii gamers have had the opportunity to download the very same game design for over half a year in the form of Hudson's NES Adventure Island. What's more, Wonder Boy has arrived at a pricepoint of 500 Wii Points, giving it no monetary value advantage over the previous release either – when Master System games were expected to be available for a standard rate of 400 Points instead. Wonder Boy is still a fair selection and will certainly appeal to gamers nostalgic for the Master System, and placed head-to-head against Adventure Island it edges out Master Higgins' quest by just a bit. But let's hope that the next Master System title to arrive in the Wii Shop is one of that console's truly unique efforts.

- salvar a namorada seqüestrada.

SEGA Master SystemRandom Access
In any case, this title started a series of successful Wonder Boy games that soon stepped in a more RPG direction, as well as a completely different and unintended series whose popularity slightly eclipsed its source material. But the original Wonder Boy game, though novel, is very basic and often a bit too challenging for casual players. It does show its age through its use of repetition as a game mechanic; it is indeed unfortunate that its gameplay gets dry after a while. Still, there is fun to be found here for fans of pure action titles from way-back-when.

SEGA Master SystemDefunct Games
I suppose Sega should get some points for giving Master System owners an arcade perfect port of Wonder Boy, but with uninspired level designs, terrible controls, and dull power ups, this just isn't one adventure most people want to relive. Master System owners looking for a 2D platformer in the same vein as Super Mario Bros. need look elsewhere... this isn't even close.

Even without the rather misleading repetition, there's little reason to recommend this. It's decent enough for its vintage, but definitely marred by clunkiness - both in the original design and this rather flickery emulation. I feel like I've said this a hundred times in these round-ups, but the Virtual Console isn't exactly short of cute platformers - and there are plenty that are better than this early effort.

The bright, tropical graphics are inviting enough, but the repetitive "happy" tunes will really get on your nerves. The controls are poorly designed. There's a jump button and a throw button, and pressing both lets you jump extra high. Unfortunately, the "normal" jump is totally useless, so you're forced to spend the whole game mashing both buttons at the same time - pretty lame. On the bright side, the skateboard sequences do pick up the pace of the game, and there are frequent checkpoints and unlimited continues. But let's face it - there's nothing here that distinguishes Wonder Boy from any other generic side-scroller.
