Trivia

The DOS version of World Class Leader Board went through several revisions; some to fix bugs, and others to add features. One revision that appeared around the same time Echelon was marketed is an advertisement for said game; a voice, booming through the PC speaker, talks about the game if you hit "Info" on the main screen instead of "Main Menu". The exact text spoken is:

Battle space pirates on the tenth planet Isis in Access Software's space flight simulation Echelon (with RealSound).

(I guess they had 110K of disk space to kill and decided to fill it with an advertisement. :-)
