World of Goo for iPhone and iPod Touch devices is almost everything fans of the original could want and those who are yet to try out this puzzling feast will be blown away by the deep, touching gameplay that grips you until the end; an easy must buy.

World of Goo is the complete package, showing other indies what they could be. It's a mixture of passion and brilliance that left me blubbering like a fanboy. Honestly, it's hard to talk about the game without drooling, it's just that good. If you don't own a copy of this game (a legitimate one!) your computer will disown you.

WoG could have zero personality and still be a good game, but on top of the tremendous technical execution, you are presented with a quirky and odd world that teems with character. WoG has a style all its own and the flair and dynamics of the world just add to the pleasure of losing time with the game. Perhaps the most impressive feat, WoG is one of the few physics games that are more rewarding than punishing. Instead of frequent frustration, it always feels like "you were almost there" and there is a strong desire to retry incomplete levels and use new strategies to get to the goal. World of Goo is an indie masterpiece.

World of Goo!!! I'll start with a "Go buy this game right now!" This game is so close to perfect that the jealous game developer in me (who doesn't make games nearly as good as this) wants to pretend it doesn't exist. Every aspect of this game is executed with such amazing attention to detail that it really helps put all other games, not just indie games, into perspective. The graphics are spectacular, the music and sound effects rich and engaging, and the level design and gameplay execution is flawless. As indie game fans, we have a moral responsibility to not only give 2D Boy our money, but to tell everyone else to as well. Support 2D Boy! By giving 2D Boy your money, you're telling them, and every other indie game developer out there, that you appreciate and support the hard work and dedication of any team that is willing to invest the time, effort and money to make truly amazing games like World of Goo.

Puzzle games are a dime a dozen on the App Store, but World of Goo is easily one of the best ones available. It's charm, level of polish, and stream of new mechanics and ideas will keep you invested, while its other qualities will probably make you wish that every game from this point forward could be as imaginative and intuitive. Check it out.

We literally have nothing bad to say about World of Goo. It's a wonderful puzzle game that every iPad owner needs to download. Prepare to spend hours, if not weeks, playing this one.

The rest you probably know about already: the fantastic visuals, the cracked humour, the five contrasting chapters that keep you transfixed right to the end. If a better game ever comes to the iPad, you might well spontaneously combust.

If there was any platform that was a perfect match for The World of Goo, both aesthetically and physically, it's the iPhone and iPod Touch. The controls are perfectly implemented and the gameplay is incredibly involving, so much so that you are invested in the survival of the cute little Goo balls. Puzzles are thoughtfully designed and the narrative slowly begins to delight the player as the game progresses. You are looking at about 7 to 9 hours of game time to polish off the nearly 50 levels, an extremely excellent deal at $2.99, especially compared to most console releases (Portal 2, I'm looking at you this week). Don't hesitate to download The World of Goo for the iPhone if you love puzzlers or simply well-polished games.

"World of Goo" é a prova de que criatividade e inovação não dependem de investimento de grandes produtoras. Não bastasse sua mecânica genial e uso inteligente da física para a realização de quebra-cabeças inovadores, o jogo traz ainda um visual único e uma trilha sonora belíssima e envolvente. O resultado é uma das melhores experiências que o Wii poderia proporcionar, capaz de estampar no rosto do jogador um sorriso durante toda sua duração.

To do World of Goo justice, you really need to get playing it. Screenshots and videos might not make you spark alight with interest but simply just grabbing that Wii remote and having a go will let you understand more why it is so special. World of Goo is so full of unbelievable ideas that merge so well with its fresh take on the puzzle genre. It ticks all the boxes: fun, innovative, simple yet complex, brilliant and addictive. I could go on and on, but really all I need to do is start a petition to get the meaning of goo in the dictionary changed to “a thick or sticky substance that makes for awesome games”. Don’t miss this year’s biggest surprise.

It's quite amazing that a development team consisting of basically three people has somehow managed to create such a unique and utterly charming gaming experience like the one found in World of Goo. What's also quite amazing is that you can purchase this outstanding title for a mere 1500 Wii Points. Other WiiWare developers out there need to take notice that World of Goo has raised the bar for what a WiiWare title should be, and it's raised it fairly high. Not only is it easily the best WiiWare release to date, it's also proof that you don't need a large development team or millions of dollars to create an outstanding video game. In an era of where style is often emphasized over substance, it's refreshing to see a title like World of Goo that somehow manages to feature an abundance of both.

WiiUGO (UnderGroundOnline)
If World of Goo were just a bare-bones game, it’d still be a ton of fun. But what elevates it above its competitors is the massive amount of work that went into every aspect of the game. The music is among the most memorable and pleasing that we’ve heard out of a video game this year, and the graphics are utterly charming, mixing a Dr. Seuss-inspired style with contemporary finishing. Even the writing is great, with funny inside jokes and references to other indie games. World of Goo really captures the best of both worlds – like indie games, it’s inventive, charming and totally unique. And like big-budget games, it looks great and controls like a dream. The WiiWare version costs 1500 Wii Points, and a downloadable PC version is available for $20, with a boxed retail release soon to come. However you play it, don’t let World of Goo slip by.

World of Goo should not be passed over by a single gamer. It is easily the best WiiWare game to date and, perhaps, one of the best this generation.

Wii1UP
But it's the atmosphere that transforms World of Goo from a great concept to a fantastic game, with production values well above what you'd expect from a tiny indie developer. The crisp, hand-drawn visuals burst with care and creativity, recalling the wonderfully distinct approach of another recent downloadable favorite, Castle Crashers. And the music -- who would've expected such intense anthems from a physics-based puzzler? Comparisons to composer Danny Elfman are spot-on, but to me, it sounds like the soundtrack to an epic, big-budget role-playing game -- either way, the dramatic tunes offer the perfect juxtaposition to the whimsical sights and sayings spotted throughout the game. Some will undoubtedly scoff at the $15 price tag for "just a downloadable game," but World of Goo isn't "just" anything -- except, that is, one of just a handful of truly excellent original games for the Wii.

But these are the smallest of nitpicks with what's otherwise a fantastic puzzle game. World of Goo's mix of ingenious physics-based puzzles and witty, colorful presentation make it a game almost everyone should check out. It goes by fast -- you can get through most of the puzzles in 5-6 hours -- but for $20, there's little excuse not to check out this World.

Produkt najwyższej klasy, choć w małym formacie to najlepszy w swojej kategorii. Zapamiętajcie ten tytuł z cyfrowej dystrybucji Nintendo WiiWare, bo to najlepsza gra, jaką oferuje nam ta usługa.

What it comes down to is that World of Goo is one of the finest and most original games I have played in recent years. It may not be the longest experience, but much like XBLA’s Braid, Goo maintains an interest and high quality throughout every level of the game. The game is a fantastic experience that will be thoroughly enjoyed, but then you can move on. This approach to indie games is excellent because ultimately and indie studio cannot compete with the longevity of a commercial studio game. This is what they do best – Wow you with originality, art style and uniqueness and offer you a fantastic experience for the fraction of the price of a full scale commercial title. World of Goo is an exceptional game at an exceptional price. There’s really no excuse not to experience the creativity, art, and fun that permeates this game. Cons: Ultimately the game can be beaten over a weekend and every level played.

World Of Goo is an amazing success story, it shows that you don't need a massive team of game developers to create something fresh , exciting and extremely addictive. The Wii needed this game because the last few months have seen quite a dry spell on Nintendo's console. It is crammed with creative, inventive and exhilarating level design and the art direction is wonderfully accomplished. If you are a current Wii owner, then vote with your Wii points and make sure you purchase. 2D boy need to be supported so they can release future masterpieces!

iPhoneIGN
IGN gave World of Goo a near-perfect score on WiiWare. I'm seconding that praise for the iPhone edition. World of Goo is a brilliant puzzle game that was seemingly made to be played on a touch screen, as it's so easy -- so second-nature -- to use your finger to drag the little goo balls around to create towers, bridges, escape routes, and more. Like Osmos before it, there is just something about using actual touch to control this game...not to get too feely-feely about it, but it creates a real connection between you and the action.

WindowsgamrReview
Of course, I can't tell you whether or not World of Goo will be remembered as a classic game and it would be presumptuous to assert that it should be. What I can tell you is that it shares a large number of the qualities that some of the greatest games have in that it's simple, it's fun, it's addictive, and it's approachable for everyone. Put simply, if you can even remotely afford to pick the game up, it's worth every last cent.

WiiIGN
World of Goo is an amazing WiiWare game that you simply must buy for this is exactly the type of software that needs both recognition and support. A three-man team has created a title that is not only significantly cheaper than most retail Wii games, but a hell of a lot better in every regard, from concept to execution. It's packed full of brilliant, challenging levels. It's gorgeous. It's got beautiful music. And it controls really well. So if you value any or all of these qualities, and hopefully you do, you should be delighted to know that Nintendo's downloadable service is about to rock your world, goo style.

WiiCheat Code Central
This is exactly the kind of experience WiiWare seems designed for. 1500 Wii Points is really a small price to pay for excellence, especially when the sheer quality of World of Goo handily puts more than a few full-blown Wii releases to shame. It's a blast from start to finish. If there's one game you pick up on WiiWare this year, make it this one.

World of Goo really is an absolute delight from start to finish, and the additional gameplay that you can reap from trying to attain OCD and the World of Goo Corporation meta game really add to the replayability/value for money. Even for those who don’t enjoy trying to achieve such accolades, the wonderful experience of the main game itself more than justifies shelling out a few bucks. In short, if you’re a fan of puzzles there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t play this game. It really is glorious.

WiiGame Revolution
World of Goo can be faulted, though, for its controls. The Wii remote is the main form of control, and in most levels, a lot of scrolling has to be done. A lot of time is spent moving the cursor being to the edges of the screen, sometimes making things confusing. Coming in at 1500 Wii Points, World of Goo pushes the downloadable game cliché out of the window, providing hours of dynamic and unique fun that a lot of fully priced releases fail to do. Get on sliming!

Though the game's downbeat point of view doesn't quite jibe with the gameplay, the puzzle setups are irresistible, and the physics impeccable.

Tolles Puzzle-Spiel!

To exacerbate things, the difficulty curve isn't very forgiving. The game quickly starts getting hard, so there isn't much time to get acquainted with the mechanics. A level-skip feature comes in handy, but a level-select option that let you play levels out of order — instead of forcing you to suffer the indignity of having the level cleared automatically for you — would be better. Still, all the game's complexity makes for some brilliant puzzles. World of Goo is not about trial and error. You may not complete most of the levels on your first run, but the carefully polished physics and smart mechanics mean there's always a logical solution. I played World of Goo previously on my PC, but the iPad version's controls are a lot more suited to the game. Stacking goo balls by dragging them with your finger is faster, not to mention more fun.
90
WindowsGame Tunnel
For as much as I enjoyed the game, though, I can't give it a 10 because some of the challenges are very difficult. The final level of the first section is a good example. You're building an impossibly large tower, using stages of goo constructions. It takes forever, and it's very easy to have 10 minutes of hard work and careful planning wiped out with a simple error in judgment… and then you have to start over. Fun factor is high, but so is frustration factor.

iPad148apps
I can’t recommend World of Goo enough. If you are a fan of physics puzzlers or just a good games in general, this is a must have. While it’s not a new game, it’s good to have it finally on a platform that it seems to have been designed for.

Oozing charm and smart design, World of Goo is the best physics puzzler available on iPad.

WiiThunderbolt Games
The blend of puzzle solving and physic fundamentals is what makes it all happen. The challenges are incredibly well-designed; despite having a little less than fifty playable stages, many of them require a ton of planning and countless retries before you get them right. With so many different kinds of Goo and an ever-increasing level of complexity, the later areas will definitely give you a run for your money. Mastering the gameplay has its rewards; beating the game with the OCD requirements not only nets you more bragging rights, but lets you build further in the game’s open-ended challenge. The awkward controls are the only problem, but it’s nothing game-breaking. Besides, the stellar soundtrack, engrossing atmosphere, and quirky style will keep you hooked. And the craziest part of all? It only took two people to come up with something this awesome. If there was ever a game that demonstrated quality over quantity, this is it.

So there we have it, not only have 2D Boy provided a world full of goo related fun as promised, they've done so at a bargain basement price of only 16.99 GBP. In a gaming world populated by companies able to throw millions of pounds at tired franchises that sell on their name alone and where genuine innovation and fresh ideas should be welcomed with open arms, there's no better game to throw your weight behind than World of Goo. If more titles were made with this much passion the gaming world would be a much nicer, although possibly gooier, place.

WindowsBinary Joy
The game could also do with a few basic setup options. I suspect their lack is primarily due to the game being developed with the Wii in mind, but I would really have liked the option to play World of Goo in a window rather than full screen and some volume controls would have been nice (the music is fantastic but I like to listen to my own music and with Goo it’s all or nothing).

World of Goo is a fun, inventive and skilfully assembled game that’d even be at home on your laptop. The only downside is that, bizarrely, its availability in the UK is currently limited. All we’ll say as far as that goes is that if you do choose to evaluate some of the DRM-free code that’s being sold in the US, do still show your support for developer 2D Boy when their site is back up or they can be arsed to remove the region-lock on Steam.

WoG is highly entertaining. The levels are unique and challenging, the physics make each level slightly different every time you play it, and the bonus challenges for each level add a huge amount to each level's replayability.

World of Goo is one of the most fun games you will ever play. There’s a free demo available on Steam, and it’s worth the minute or so it takes to download. 2D Boy has been generous, and included the full first chapter in the demo! Players should immediately buy the game if they have money on hand. That is, unless they don’t like the taste of goo in the morning. But honestly, who doesn’t? The goo balls taste amazing, and if I were a food reviewer, I’d give the goo balls a nine out of ten.

World of Goo is one of the best games of the year. It’s so rare that a game does so much right. Publisher Brighter Minds should be lauded for distributing such an off-beat independent game, and 2D Boy has instantly earned itself a huge fanbase. Whatever you do, don’t miss the Goo.

World of Goo is an amazing downloadable PC game that you simply must buy. It's packed full of brilliant, challenging levels. It's gorgeous. It's got beautiful music. And it controls really well. So if you value any or all of these qualities, and hopefully you do, you should not hesitate to add it to your My Games List via Steam. I've given it a slightly lower score on PC versus WiiWare because it lacks the cooperative mode found in the Nintendo build and also because it retails for $5 more. If there's any justice, World of Goo will set the internet aflame and earn its creators a million dollars. Oh yes. Well, to sum it all up, World of Goo is a great title that will reward you for playing it with a reasonable few hours of fun at a not immoderate difficulty level. Unlike many puzzle games it's rarely frustrating, often entertaining, and it has something quite stunning and beautiful to it. In other words, it's worth your money, providing that that's what you want. You might just want to go back to headshotting zombies on Left 4 Dead though, in which case, good luck to you, peon. I'm done here anyhow.

Champagne!

This is a game that will make you hold your breath, and curse at your monitor (I have since apologized to my LCD). I like that it is simple in design, but deep and complex in completion of objectives. Replaying a level gives you the chance to hone the skills you develop. It is interesting to re-visit a level and use less Goo in your replay situation, once you have a better feel for how things work. It’s a fun self-challenge to use less resources and be more efficient on a replay, but being able to share those results with the online Leaderboard.

Unfortunately, the game itself is fairly short-lived and a focused gamer could probably burn through the entire thing in just a few hours. That’s fair considering the price, but we would have loved to see a bit more of what 2D Boy has to offer. It’s a shame, because World of Goo is a great game while it lasts – it’s just that there’s nothing here to really draw you back for a second play. All the game would've needed is a rudimentary level editor or sandbox mode to ensure long-lasting appeal. With those features lacking though, World of Goo has to be judged as what it is; a very accessible, quirky and fun puzzle game which falls down on replayability but redeems itself on sheer cuteness. It’s a great game, but just don’t expect it to hold your attention for very long.

Masterfully done, and certainly set to become an instant Wii and PC cult hit.

„World of Goo“ ist ein spaßiges Spiel mit interessanten Ideen und einem innovativen Konzept, das leider zu wenige wirklich fordernde und abwechslungsreiche Level bietet.
