A great game for gamers of all types, singleplayer will keep you occupied for quite some time, multiplayer extends longevity greatly.
PlayStation 3TheSixthAxis (Sep 17, 2010)
Worms 2: Armageddon is basically the same Worms game that you’ve been playing for years, with tons of content thrown into the mix. There’s a lot of variety in every part of this game, and it meets the price tag. It’s the best version of Worms I have ever played, and there’s hours of content for people to enjoy. The multiplayer modes are great and the campaign is lengthy and varied. There’s really nothing unforgivably bad about Armageddon and the conflict is top-notch.
Xbox 360Totally Gaming Network (Jul 06, 2009)
It’s easy to see why the game has such staying power as no two games are ever the same, and even for single players there’s an extensive campaign and puzzle mode to chunk through even if you never take the game online.Worms 2: Armageddon is probably the most accomplished and polished version of the game, and one that’s eminently suited to the Xbox Live Arcade. Though I slightly miss the facility to generate random landscape types, this is a tiny insignificant niggle. Worms 2: Armageddon is sublime and should definitely be high on your XBLA shopping list.
Xbox 360Gameplanet (Jul 17, 2009)
Team17 Software have truly though of everything with this Worms title, and there is no doubt that if you’ve been hankering for a good game of Worms on your 360, it's finally here. Particular mention really needs to go to the ability to fully customise the game in a way that up until now only PC gamers have been able to do. It sounds like a simple thing, but really it isn’t, and Worms 2: Armageddon delivers in almost every area. As a downside, the game is still just Worms and it really does nothing to bring anything new to the table, but then again, does it have to?
Xbox 360Worth Playing (Jul 19, 2009)
For the $10 price of admission, Worms 2: Armageddon is a hard game to pass up if you've ever remotely been interested in the series. There's a slew of content here and lots of replay value due to the massive quantity of unlockables and level of customization that the game allows. With a decent single-player mode and an incredible amount of multiplayer content, Worms 2 is sure to be a hit anytime you have friends over, and there's even plenty of fun in the single-player campaign. We're finally getting a fully featured Worms game for the Xbox 360. While it's a fantastic game, people who bought the original will probably be annoyed because they'll feel like they're paying $10 for the title that they should have gotten in 2007.
Xbox 360TeamXbox (Jun 29, 2009)
Worms 2: Armageddon is the complete XBLA answer to the franchise that fans have been waiting for. Worms 2 is also good enough for me to recommend it to new fans of the series; even more so than the free PC demos floating about in cyberspace. Team 17 did this one up right, and I expect to see the same level of competency in the DLC bits planned for Armageddon.
Xbox 360IGN (Jul 01, 2009)
If you liked the first Worms game on XBLA, don't hesitate to download this bigger, prettier sequel. If you were a bit bothered by what was missing from the first game, take Armageddon's trial for a spin and I'm pretty sure all will be forgiven. This is one of the most fun multiplayer games around, and now the single-player campaign provides a satisfying experience, as well. Few games offer the chance to wield a weapon called the Buffalo of Lies -- don't miss yours.
Xbox 360MS Xbox World (Jul 13, 2009)
Between all of the solo gaming available, the tons of fun you can have on Xbox Live, and the potential for more of both with DLC, you're looking at a great purchase for just 800 Microsoft Points ($10 / £6.80).
Xbox 360PAL Gaming Network (PALGN) (Jul 13, 2009)
Worms 2: Armageddon is a worthy follow-up to 2007’s Worms. With an improved online infrastructure, new vertical levels and a variety of gameplay options, the game will keep you entertained for a long time.
Xbox 360Console Monster (Jul 25, 2009)
To conclude, the new weapons, improved campaign and great Xbox LIVE game modes make Worms 2: Armageddon, like its predecessor, a contender for best Xbox LIVE Arcade title. At 800 Microsoft Points, it’s money well-spent and a must-buy.
Xbox 360NZGamer (Jul 16, 2009)
The campaign mode is genuinely good fun, mixing in puzzle levels that really do challenge you to think outside of the box. There are loads of different backgrounds to play on and the combination of customization options means that online opponents really are recognizably different. There are the odd little quirks to deal with, like smoke trails disappearing or AI players pulling off completely ludicrous shots with suspicious regularity and the between-round animations / camera changes could be considerable smoother and faster. But this is easily the best modern Worms game and just about the most fun you can have with a bunch of smack-talking mates and a crate of your favorite beverage on a cold winter's night. Highly recommended.
Xbox 360Gamer Limit (Jul 11, 2009)
Worms 2: Armageddon is a great arcade title that offers more content than most retail boxes, and at times, better gameplay.
PlayStation 3GamingXP (Sep 23, 2010)
PlayStation 3PlayStation Lifestyle (Sep 20, 2010)
To wrap up, if you haven’t played a Worms game before then this is definitely the best jumping on point. The game is full of fun for newcomers and includes plenty of content. For those die-hard fans looking to embark on yet another spree of global worm-fare, Worms 2 includes just enough iterations to make it worthwhile, though at the steep asking price, it’s hard to recommend to casual fans who have already played and tired of the series. The new modes and weapons are certainly welcomed and there’s no doubt that this is a good game, but it’s hard to shake the feeling that these are still just the same old ‘exploding cattle’ antics from the PlayStation One heyday. Team 17: you have the resources and you have the platform to experiment with. My advice is to think of some crazy concept and just run with it: put the Worms in go-karts or give the super sheep its own 2D side-scroller, anything.
PlayStation 3GamingTrend (Oct 05, 2010)
Your multiplayer options are split between local and online play, and this is by far where the investment of your time will pay the most dividends. I would not recommend this game based solely on the merits of the singleplayer experience. Use the game’s customization options to create a team, give your team and it’s worm soldiers names, accessorize them, and head into the online arena to experience the real fun. There are a variety of gameplay modes that range from one-on-one deathmatches against another player and a free-for-all type mode where up to four teams can go at it. The game is chock-full of inventive weapons and gadgets and most of them are at your disposal during the match. Bazookas, shotguns, sheep grenades, jetpacks, ninja ropes, and a lot more allow for some awesomely creative ways of destroying your opponents.

Xbox 360GameSpot UK (Jul 24, 2009)
Worms 2: Armageddon is a great package that compiles all the best elements of the series. It also brings Worms up to date with crisp visuals, plenty of customisation options, and excellent multiplayer. If you're a fan of Worms, then this brings back all of the classic weapons, and if you've never tried it out, then this is the perfect place to start. Either way, it's a great multiplayer game that delivers more than enough value for the money.
PlayStation 3ZTGameDomain (Jan 18, 2011)
Worms 2: Armageddon is still a really fun game. If you have some friends or family to play with you, it can be a blast playing locally. The multiplayer is very complex in structure, but still a lot of fun if you mind the lag here and there. There’s just a ton of stuff to do in the game that can keep you busy for a good long time. For fifteen bucks, I would definitely drop the money on it if you’re looking for a good turn-based strategy game.
Xbox 3603D Juegos (Jul 15, 2009)
Una descarga francamente interesante. Los aficionados a las series encontrarán aquí una de sus mejores entregas, mientras que los que nunca se han acercado a la marca Worms darán en Armageddon con uno de los lanzamientos más completos de la saga.
PlayStation 3NZGamer (Oct 02, 2010)
Worms 2 is never going to replace Heavy Rain, so let’s not even start trying to compare apples and watermelons. But what you do get - a quick, smart, fun challenge that you can sit down and play with your mates while you’re waiting for the pizza to arrive - is definitely not to be sneered at. While the look is indeed basic, don’t let this lull you into a false sense of security; this cuddly number’s just waiting for you to turn your back. Currently retailing at less than thirty bucks via the Playstation store, Worms 2: Armageddon is a little mushroom-shaped cloud of gaming heaven just waiting to explode in your living room.
PlayStation 3XGN (Sep 22, 2010)
Worms 2: Armageddon wijkt niet af van de originele Worms games. Het werkt allemaal lekker en het ziet er goed uit, maar het is jammer dat Team 17 niet wat vernieuwing heeft aangebracht. Dat had de game nog beter gemaakt.
Xbox (Jul 15, 2009)
If you already own Worms on Xbox Live arcade or Worms on PSN than this $10 sequel might be pushing it. There are a lot of new features, especially if you only had the first XBLA version, but the fact remains that the core gameplay remains the same. Worms is Worms. The core gameplay remains the same. The new weapons and levels are fun but once again they don’t change the gameplay but rather the look of the game. If you don’t yet own a version of Worms than this is definitely the version to get but otherwise you’ll want to try out the free demo before deciding whether or not to buy Worms 2 Armageddon.
