Wrong Turn: Welcome to Dark City

In Wrong Turn: Welcome to Dark City the player takes the role of Jaz Lana Melroy who got captured by the goons of the evil dictator Paul Zuna. The first goal is to escape from prison and to join the resistance which wants to overthrow the dictatorial regime.

During the course of the game Jaz meets more or less important people which assign quests to her. When completing quests she receives experience points, which are used to improve her abilities, and money to buy implants or weapon modifications. Of course these also result in better or special abilities.

The combat is action oriented. Rez uses either melee or shooting weapons to get rid of her enemies - the effectiveness and handling of the weapons depend on her skills. The special abilities aren't only used for fighting but also to solve puzzles. The game prohibits the player from shooting important people. The controls follow the established shooter standards.
