Vor ewigen Zeiten geisterten Dämonen auf dieser Erde. Mit den Jahren haben diese alten Dämonen die Kontrolle über die Gesellschaft verloren und konnten mit den großen Veränderungen nicht Schritt halten. Die “Uralten”, wie sie genannt werden, wurden gezwungen, sich in die Tiefen der Hölle zurückzuziehen, während die Sterblichen die Welt regierten. Jetzt kehren sie zurück, um Rache zu üben. Sie versuchen, die Herrschaft über die Welt zurückzuerobern und eine Brücke herzustellen, zwischen der Hölle und der Erde, indem sie eine Armee von Dämonen auf die Erde bringen. Für diesen schrecklichen Plan benötigen die Uralten die Hilfe und dunkle Macht des Meisters, ein 600 Jahre alter Vampir, der einst den Höllenschlund öffnete.

Werde Buffy Summers, eine 17-jährige High School-Studentin, die neben den alltäglichen Sorgen eines Teenagers auch noch mit der Verantwortung kämpfen muss, “Die Auserwählte” im Kampf gegen Vampire und andere dämonische Gestalten zu sein. Es liegt an Buffy, die Welt vor Vampiren und Dämonen zu bewahren und die Menschheit zu retten, bevor sie vom schrecklichen Plan der Uralten heimgesucht wird.

Take on the role of Buffy Summers, "The Slayer"



Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ is a third-person action/adventure game based on the international hit television series. Players take on the role of Buffy Summers, a typical high school student by day and a fierce destroyer of the undead by night. Buffy the Vampire Slayer combines fighting, action, drama, humour, exploration and puzzle solving in a complex interactive 3D environment.

FEATURES


• Voices of favourite characters from TV series including Angel, Xander, Willow, Cordelia and Giles are featured in the game to help Buffy rid the world of evil.
  
  
• Players fight a range of enemies including Spike, The Master, Drusilla, demons, zombies and other supernatural creatures that threaten mankind.
  
  
• All of Buffy's favourite haunts are richly detailed and accurate from the show: Sunnydale High School, the cemetery, The Bronze nightclub and the library, which is the portal that sits on top of the Hellmouth.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., August 20, 2002 – Vampires, demons and zombies beware! Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS) and Fox Interactive today announced that Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ for the Xbox’ video game system from Microsoft has staked out its place on store shelves. The game features action-packed combat, rich graphics, ghastly creatures and a myriad of elements that evoke the internationally successful TV hit series.

Taking on the role of Buffy Summers, the leading heroine, fans of the TV series will enjoy progressing through the game, recognizing many familiar sights and sounds. Players will meet Buffy’s friends and foes at her typical hang outs, the Bronze Nightclub, the cemetery, Sunnydale High School and the library. The game features many of the same characters and voices on the TV series such as Angel, Xander, Willow, Spike and The Master.

Players can learn more than 50 fighting moves and polish their “slayer” abilities to gain experience and power. Some of Buffy’s special abilities include: Martial Arts, Quick Healing, Slayer Sense, Super Jump, Speed, Strength, and Gymnastics. Players will need to master all these skills as they will be a key defense against foes that can learn Buffy’s fighting techniques and counter them with a few surprising attack moves of their own during intense slayfests. The game also casts an eerie spell on players using supernatural effects such as morphing creatures, dynamic fogging and arcane spell casting that enhance the dark, mythical setting.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the Xbox was developed by The Collective and is co-published by EA and Fox Interactive.
