Description
A beat'em'up with characters taken from all kinds of Capcom and SNK games. The game system is centered around "grooves" which you select before any battle, these different grooves alter the game rules to what Capcom or SNK game you are used to. There are three grooves dedicated for each company. There's even an option later in the game letting you define your own groove, which makes the game infinitely more playable.
The new selection of characters in this game is definately unique. For instance, on the SNK side, one of the new characters is Todoh from the first Art of Fighting game (he was the first boss), no one imagined Capcom would add him to the new selection. Apart from that, expect to see familar faces from Final Fight, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Last Blade and more.
One important thing to note is that Capcom made the game, not SNK. So though the game tries to be a mix of both Capcom and SNK, most people will agree that it *is* more like a Capcom game. For instance, the number of attack buttons are six (which is typical Capcom, and all SNK beat'em'ups have only 4 buttons).

Trivia
The EO (Extreme Offense) edition of Capcom vs SNK 2 allows the player instant access to certain special moves using the second analog stick of the controller. Therefore, it's an easier edition for beginners to get into the series (although it can be turned off at any time for experienced players).
