Description

This pack is an add-on for Halo 2 with a collection of multiplayer maps for gamers who do not have access to Xbox Live. It contains 9 new maps (Containment, Warlock, Turf, Sanctuary, Gemini, Relic, Elongation, Terminal and Backwash), an auto update that brings the game to the latest version, with cheating countermeasures, and all prior Live updates.

The disc also contains a bonus cinematic that showcases unseen side events during the Old Mombasa mission of Halo 2 and a behind-the-scenes documentary containing interviews with the designers about the inspiration for the new maps.

Development

Some of the maps in this expansion are remakes of Halo: Combat Evolved maps. Elongation is a remake of Longest, and Warlock is a remake of Wizard.

Innovations

This is the first retail expansion for a console game. Online users can get these maps through Xbox Live. As of July 2005, he first four maps (Containment, Turf, Sanctuary and Warlock) have already been released for free and the five new ones cost $11.99, but became free on August 30, 2005.
