I think just for Pro Drag Racing 2005, the IHRA should change their slogan to “Anything But Attitude”. Attitude is exactly what this game lacks, along with a little bit of soul. Many will find this game an improvement compared to the overly-technical game released in ’04, but at least it wasn’t as mindless. The graphics look better but not good enough, even at the twenty dollar price tag. The inclusion of the Simulation mode does make the game more enjoyable, but not so much if you were in search of a drag racing game that took anything more than quick reflexes to play. Without much skill involved and with its sub-par presentation, I can only recommend Pro Drag Racing 2005 as a rental to hardcore motorsports fans.
Cheat Code Central
The load times are ridiculous. I have not seen a more frustrating design. It loads when you access a menu. It even loads after you pause it. There is no other reason for this other than sloppy design. If the developers don't even care that much about their game, why should you?
If you really want to get this game, we applaud you. You are so devoted to the sport of drag racing that you are willing to overlook any and all problems that are included with IHRA Professional Drag Racing 2005 and that is an inspiration to someone. That someone isn't us, but we respect that… in a way. Sort of. Just take comfort that since there is no reason that this game will appeal to anyone else this is your own private playground so enjoy it.
