Summary
Racing, old school.
The Good
Outrun 2 represents a fine arcade classic, and feeling if you will. It is almost Identical to the Arcade racers you see today, it has various amounts of content to do, from simple Arcade racing to challenging missions. Design is good, use of Ferrari's really spice things up, the challenges and "Heart-Attack" is vary addictive and enjoyable. The game is surprisingly long, along with a total of 101 missions to fill. Sound is adequate, as well as graphics, never met such a smooth arcade-game. Their are also plenty of unlock-ables, like cards, or the ability to play the completely original Outrun game, which really gives the game versatility.
The Bad
It can get repetitive at times, and often it feels weird to not have a handbrake for drifting, although it is supposed to be an arcade game. Music could've been better, not a vary good wealth of tracks, and I always thought custom soundtracks would work better. Some of the challenges are pretty far-fetched, like the math game, which I won't go into. The arcade itself can be over challenging, unless you play it on easy of coarse.
The Bottom Line
The game is pure arcade heart, really suggested for racing fans, as well as those who want a good challenge, or simply likes chicks and hot cars. After a day or two, you'll be hooked with this arcade Sim of greatness, Sega, really outdone themselves.
