Though the game has good graphics, the heart and soul of Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the game itself. The game consists of killing Nazis, along with zombies, and pulling switches. Hold on, this might not seem fun, but you would be wrong. As a matter of fact, you can play this game for hours on end without even noticing how much of the same stuff you do.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is about as fun as they come. Zombies, Nazis, Nazi Zombies... it just doesn't get any better than this. The framerate is a bit troublesome at times, but not enough to really detract from the experience of kicking some Nazi fanny. While Wolfenstein offers a good deal of single-player and split-screen co-op play, the real bread and butter is the online support. If you don't have Xbox Live, this one won't have nearly as much value to you. However, anyone with Xbox Live would do well to own this game. It's the best Xbox Live experience to date and is hopefully a sign of good things to come.

In the end, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a fairly uninteresting single-player game, but its multiplayer mode is a ton of fun. Xbox Live subscribers willing to spend the time to learn the game's maps properly will definitely get a lot of enjoyment out of the game's online component.

With Xbox Live crying out for an online FPS, Tides of War is certainly a great addition to the service, and anyone currently in possession of a subscription would be doing their Xbox a disservice to miss out. Until Counter-Strike arrives later in the year, and Halo 2 a few months after, this is a great way to hone your joypad skills in the meantime. On balance, despite the fairly humdrum single player campaign, Tides of War is well worth engaging in for the Live experience alone. PC gamers, however, can save their cash.

While the World War II shooter genre is getting awfully crowded lately, there's definitely room for Return to Castle Wolfenstein's occult/fantasy spin. If you're looking for an evil good time especially one you can share with friends Wolfenstein awaits.

Moins impressionnant que lors de sa sortie PC, ce Wolfenstein-là n'en demeure pas moins intéressant. Même s'il a veilli techniquement, les fondus de FPS devraient passer un bon moment seul face à leur écran ou à plusieurs en ligne.

RTCW: Tides of War is a solid addition to your FPS library and another feather in the Xbox Live hat. The single player is okay, but it's really all about sticking with a friend and coordinating offensives with your fellow teammates over Xbox Live. This one should keep you in the field until Counter-Strike and Halo 2 make their way out of developer boot camp.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War once again sets you into the familiar role of Agent Blascowitz. The goal is the same as ever: Kill the Nazis, escape from Castle Wolfenstein and foil their evil plan of world domination.

RTCW: Tides of War is a fun game, especially because of its online capabilities. The graphics are good (and the game supports 480P and widescreen for those that have it), the sound is mostly above average and the entire package is fairly polished.
