Spongebob Squarepants: The Battle for Bikini Bottom is a must buy for fans. This is one of the better Spongebob titles to come along and is a blast to play. The action is good and dialog is funny enough that even non-fans may want to check it out as well. Who knows, you may even become a fan yourself. This is an excellent buy for kids as well.

It's Spongebob and it features all the real character voices. Since these are some of the funniest actors in the cartoon business they generally rise above the mediocre script and make the game funnier than it should be. There's a plethora of inside jokes and the offensiveness level never rises above that of the show. If your kid loves the TV show, then flop on the deck and float like a fish.

The love for the SpongeBob franchise really shines through in Battle for Bikini Bottom -- and if it weren't there this would be a very dreary title. I'm constantly amazed by the how much THQ and Heavy Iron got right -- this truly is like playing through an episode. While SpongeBob is a little too easy, it's still a lot of fun to romp through Jelly Fish fields or go clam boarding with Sandy. This game offers a lot of variety and each area feels like a fresh and distinct entity rather than just a palette swap. If you aren't a fan of SpongeBob, you'll probably find this a pretty average experience.

SpongeBob Squarepants: The Battle for Bikini Bottom does a lot of things right. It offers players the usual options as most platformers, but it blends everything together nicely with the style of SpongeBob. The game plays as an episode of the show, with plenty of jokes referencing actual episodes in the past. For any fan of SpongeBob Squarepants, this is a title to check out. The visual style, the sounds, and the jokes are straight out of the show, and all come together to create a fun and enjoyable game. For anyone that isn't a fan, there is enough here to warrant a look because that little yellow sponge has enough humor so suck anyone in.

Spongebob’s game is an amazingly good action title with some great presentation. It also follows the licensed product very closely. I do have a few problems with some of the game’s design though. Although the game is easy to play so that almost anybody can pick up, that is also part of the problem. You can die as much as you want, and you’ll never see any kind of Game Over screen whatsoever. There is even a giant hand that picks up one of your heroes if they travel too far off the game play area, which makes the game even easier. Spongebob Squarepants: BFBB is not very challenging, and the whole ocean theme certainly isn’t for everyone. That said, if you are searching for some solid platforming action then you may want to look at this Bikini Bottom for some fun. This is a dream come true for anyone who loves Spongebob and his Squarepants.
