A smooth framerate, flawless camera, and spot-on control makes the experience nothing short of sublime, and the game a near-perfect mix of exacting artistry and technical wizardry—not unlike snowboarding itself.

Exactly. SSX 3 is a great game and I would highly recommend it to anyone that has been a fan of SSX in the past. You will not be disappointed.

No blood, no muss, hardly any fuss. Just some smack talk and smacking around. People who are smacked just stumble or fall, depending on how they are hit. Due to the over-the-top jumps and falls, this one needs a big "Do Not Try This At Home" stencilled on the screen. After they've played the game you might want to keep an eye on them for a while. That's where the age reccommendation came from. If you don't want the game's music going for whatever reason, there is the option to turn it off and just play with ambient mountain noise.

Other than that, and the slightly weak two-player racing -- which is fine in its own right, just nothing new or spectacular -- SSX 3 on the Xbox is a rocking game that everyone should track down and grab immediately. EA knows how to do sports better than any other game publisher out there.

SSX 3 is a superb snowboarding game. Xbox owners looking for multiplayer boarding may want to check out Amped 2, but SSX 3 stands alone as the single best extreme sports game out there (aside from the Tony Hawk series). Racing, freestyle, and freeriding are all equally fun, and the added extras of long runs and Big Challenges make this a great alternative to homework. An excellent game that deserves Game of the Year considerations.

SSX 3 is by far the best snowboarding experience on any console. Often you get a game that looks great but doesn’t play so well or vice versa. It combines superb graphics with deep gameplay to bring gamers a great gaming experience. It’s not often that a game gets every aspect of the game right. SSX 3 is definitely a game that you don’t want to miss.

If you’re an extreme sports fan, you owe it to yourself to check out SSX 3. This game has exceeded my expectations far beyond my belief. The sheer amount of depth put into the single player experience is quality gaming you just can’t find in many other titles in today’s sports genre. There really is not much one can complain about with SSX 3, but like always, Xbox Live is the one ingredient that has been left out of this masterpiece. Nevertheless, you can’t go wrong with SSX 3, and I’m sure that there are many gamers that will fully agree with me. Don’t wait around and miss out on one of EA’s best titles of the year.

When I started seriously playing this game, I knew I liked SSX 3. But I didn't love it and I wasn't sure I was going to. With so many games to review and play all the time, I have to be picky and even then many games slide right by. But I grabbed this game from Kaiser and for the last week have played it non-stop. Much to my delight, I do indeed love it. Honestly, what is there not to adore about it?

This game will make all you parents tired, as you watch your children bounce up and down while they control the physical safety of their favorite character. The tunes in this game are clean, addictive, and fun. You will even enjoy watching the loading screens. The entertainment of pulling off the 'Worm' on a snowboard 70 feet above the air is like no other. Turning off your system will be almost as hard as separating with your teen age love...and could in fact lead to just that if you don't keep a clock in the same room. This game is a blast, and a must have for everyone. I hope you have found this information helpful in the likes of where your next 50 bucks will be going.

This game will please everyone accustomed to the SSX arcade-style snowboarding. It’s easy to learn and fun to play, and you don’t have to be a pro to pull off some insane moves. To be perfectly honest, though, I’d recommend SSX3 to everyone, snowboarding fan or not. The crazy air and outstanding tricks you can pull off are great stress releases whether playing solo or with a few friends. As a result, it’s a good addition to any holiday list, and it doubles as a great way to unwind after a few hours of stressful holiday shopping.

In fact it’d be hard to find fault with what has been put into SSX3. Perhaps it would be easier to criticise what other games have that SSX3 doesn’t. It would have been great to see some online play via Xbox live, but with EA and Microsoft locked in deadly combat over the these issues, that was never going to happen. So if it’s an online snowboard experience you were looking for you’re going to be tempted away by Amped 2. It would have been nice to be able to customise the soundtrack. The quibbles aside, SSX3 stands up as a fantastic game that would take a proud place on any action sports gamers shelves.

Sequels are ubiquitous these days, so to find one, which builds so expertly on what's come before, offering enough for old and new gamers alike is truly something to get excited about. If you have a distinct aversion to "baggy pants" sports games or quiver at the sign of complex control schemes then you'll probably want to pass, but even for the most ardent extreme sports enthusiast, this is an essential purchase. And to any actual snowboarders out there currently snorting in derision - get over your preconceptions, because we feel sure you'd take relentless entertainment over realism any day of the week, and that's what SSX 3 offers.

SSX 3 delivers a rush like few racing games or action sports games have ever achieved. The game's new, open-ended structure, excellent audio, enhanced trick system, and improved graphics combine to make this a superlative sequel to a series that's always had high standards. Regardless of whether you've played SSX or care much about snowboarding, you'd be doing yourself a favor by checking this game out.

So there we have it, nothing much has changed, and so much the better, for it is the simple arcade elements that SSX 3 embodies so perfectly, that help make the third as fresh and fun as previous titles. Those who like their games rich and involving need not apply, equally those with poor reflexes and a hatred of loud music might also be best looking elsewhere. For its many fans however, the latest SSX will be frozen heaven on a stick.

Overall, I recommend this game not only to snowboarding enthusiasts, but to anyone who wants a game with the sense of speed, the ability to pull insane, uber tricks or the feel and ability to speed down a mountain with various ways to choose from. EA Sports Big has done an excellent job on this game. Highly recommended.

When all is said and done, SSX 3 is a worthy successor to its brothers, taking a step forward in scope but holding the player's hand too much when landing 2160s.

SSX3 is a very good game, but I don't think the perfect example of extreme winter sports. It's still possible to get stuck in scenery at times and have to use the reset-rider button – which is annoying. The other problem is that although the mountain is supposedly very open it is all too easy to leap from areas that are out of bounds yet not signposted. Other than that, it's a great fun packed game that does exactly what it says on the tin.

MS Xbox World
Overall a complete new game has arisen from EA you could say and snippets of the last 2 games have been stuck in to say it is indeed SSX 3. This is a great snowboarding game to play but players of the last 2 games may not feel as comfortable as they did with the last 2 games, but for the third in the series a good effort.

Gameplanet
An amazing and complex arcade snowboard game with loads to do and a huge mountain to explore. If you are new to the series, however, or just crap at this sort of game, be prepared for immense initial frustration - the learning curve is SUPER steep. If that doesn't put you off, pick it up!

Gamestyle
Gamestyle would have preferred a more progressive method of ability levelling (a la Tony Hawk Underground), but as it is the 'buy-stats' system seems to work just fine. Whilst not offering a huge amount over what's already gone before, SSX 3 keeps itself firmly within arcade boundaries of play (and as such, leaves Amped 2 and 1080 2 to cover the more sim-based side of mechanics) and is therefore a welcome addition to the genre if you're into arcade snowboarding. If you've got Tricky, you'll find more of the same without the clarity of the level design and structure - but if you're new to the series and just want some fast action, you'll probably love everything there is about it, so enjoy!
