Oddly enough, the two-player cooperative mode is not immediately available (need to unlock). A half-way decent versus mode is also included. I have to say I'm fairly pleased with how Episode 3 turned out. The attractive graphics, intense battles, and tight control keep you wanting to see what the next stage has in store. Star Wars fans who crave action should find this worth their while.

George Lucas finally wraps up his epic Star Wars tale with the release of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Easily the most-anticipated movie of the year, it wasn't surprising to hear that a video-game adaptation would be hitting store shelves. What is surprising, though, is just how entertaining the game turned out to be.

Like a poorly-executed Jedi Mind Trick, Episode III tries to distract you from its repetitiveness by drawing attention to a universally frustrating combat system, lousy AI, and an overall blandness that makes Masters of Teras Kasi look like a timeless classic. I would rather be a bumbling vice admiral under Darth Vader's command than spend an more time with this bedsore of the Force.

Last month's Lego Star Wars may go down in history as the only Star Wars game based specifically within the storylines of George Lucas' recent prequels to actually be any good. This somewhat disheartening statement is solidified by the most recent game based on one of the films, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox. Revenge of the Sith certainly had a great deal of potential, featuring lots of scenes taken directly from the film that currently isn't even out yet, lots of lightsaber dueling, and 16 missions based around action-packed sequences from the film (as well as a few bonus missions).

Star Wars Episode III could have been better, a lot better, but the developers have worked on the game well and used the movie and its features to the best that it was ever going to be used. The repetitive nature harms the game quite a bit and as such it can only be recommended to Star Wars fans or a rental for the casual fans.

Without question, the only suitable home for this game is in a molten river on Mustafar right next to Anakin's legs and arm.

Anticipation for the newest Star Wars movie is over the moon despite two disappointing prequels, so the decision to release a game with exclusive footage isn't so much shrewd as it is inevitable. This isn't the blatant middle finger that Enter the Matrix was, but it still leaves too much daylight between what it is and what it should've been.

I can't recommend this game as a purchase, rental, or as a free gift. The only gaming use I can find for this would be to in a museum display for the worst use of video game licenses, or as a cautionary tale about the woes of rushing a product to market.

"A practical guide to surviving Jedi, Clone Troopers, Sith Lords and other wickedly dangerous bastards while trekking across a galaxy far, far away." By someone who wishes he'd stayed in bed this morning.

Quite simply, Revenge... is the worst kind of Star Wars game - one that looks good enough to appeal to impulsive fans but ultimately fails to deliver by being horribly derivative, stale and linear example of the genre it so lazily falls into. We know it's not impossible to make a great Star Wars title -how hard can it really be?
