Tetris Worlds is one of the best translations of Tetris that I've ever played. Even the Minos storyline started to grown on me after a while, and the amount of new Tetris games included hold their own against other puzzle titles on the market. The Xbox Live support is just the icing on a particularly tasty cake. So if you're a Tetris fan, this is the version I recommend you check out - just remember my warnings when your dreams take a weird turn.

Game Chronicles
Tetris Worlds is highly addictive, partly because of the trance-like music, but mainly because it’s just so much fun. Even when it’s 3am and your eyes are bloodshot and your hand is permanently shaped like a wretched claw, you can’t help but say, “just one more time” when you finally lose. If you enjoy Tetris or just puzzle games in general, then Tetris Worlds is a great additional to your Xbox library. The Xbox version is easily the best version of this title with amazing music, gorgeous visuals, and a variety of gameplay options that will keep you glued to the screen for months to come.

Worth Playing
Any gamer worth the name should have a copy of Tetris in his collection. For my money, the old Tetris Game Boy cart is still the best, with Tengen's black cart coming in a close second. Tetris Worlds is fun for a while, but it manages to add unnecessary complications and lousy music to a classic game, and as such, should only be bought if you're looking to fill that Tetris-shaped gap in your collection.

If you have an Xbox LIVE account, Tetris World allows you to battle it out with up to three other players simultaneously, which makes for a great deal of fun. Here, dancing is rarely a problem, as chances are that at least one of the three players is good enough to put blocks under you until you die. Online, all pretense of a storyline completely vanish, and the heart of the game shows through. And amazingly enough, when all is said and done, what you have is Tetris. Still addicting, still time consuming, and still a poor showing for your dollars when set on the shelf beside games built from concept on a modern system.

One of the key draws of Tetris has always been its elegant simplicity--a simplicity that allows for open interpretation, which is attested to by the countless forms it has taken on consoles, the PC, cell phones, calculators, and various Web-based platforms over the years. Now, Radical Entertainment and THQ, the current holder of the Tetris license, have brought six different variations on the Tetris formula together for Tetris Worlds on the Xbox. With its wealth of gameplay modes and slick presentation, Tetris Worlds offers several solid interpretations of the classic Russian mindbender, though there's little here that hasn't been seen before.

Little more than an online update of a pretty dire Tetris update, Worlds simply isn't worth your cash, even if it's only 15 or 20 quid down the high street. Dig out your old Game Boy, or just find some web-based alternative, because Tetris is a brilliant puzzle game. Revel in its purity. Just don't waste your time here.

I am not a Tetris fan, never was. In saying that, I must admit that Tetris is still addictive no matter what version it is. The extra modes and the multiplayer mode weren’t thought out enough and don’t really add to the overall Tetris experience. Is Tetris Worlds worth your $30? It is all relative on how you look at it. Is dropping $75 worth it to go see a hockey game? For me it is, but for many people it isn’t. If you are a die-hard Tetris fan, then Tetris Worlds will probably be right up your alley. For the rest of you, use your Xbox for something with a bit more kick. Can you say Halo? I knew that ya could.
