Summary
Quite possibly, the ultimate failure of any revival of any franchise in any universe.
The Good
Well sometimes it is fun to play with your buds, I mean you do kinda get a halfassed attempt at a good game, but anyone with a working NES should most likely stick with that for your own sanity.
The Bad
Rather than revive the simple brilliance of the blessed 80's, where you had 2 options: an untimed run just to see how many lines you could clear, and a run where you had to clear 25 lines.
Now here, we get this bullshit about clearing a varying amount of lines in 2 minutes. Am I missing something here? And don't get me started on the "alternate games."
The Bottom Line
The gameplay remains essentially unchanged. You try to clear up to 4 lines simultaneously with 7 different falling shapes.
You have 6 different (read, BAD) games to chose from. All are unimaginative and completely unfun to play. Why would you want the added pressure of a line clearing at the exact right space at the exact right time to catch a hole and consequently a pattern or tetri because we turned on gravity...
So in conclusion, there is no real reason to but this game unless you don't own an NES. It is a horrible game. I only bought it for completion's sake, so DO NOT GET IT UNLESS YOU HAVE A DAMN GOOD REASON.
