Vietcong: Purple Haze Trivia (Xbox)
The compilation's subtitle is most likely a reference to The Jimi Hendrix Experience song under the same name released in 1967.
In fact, all of the game's original guitar-based music is heavily influenced by Hendrix and other prominent psychedelic and rock musicians of late 60's.
When the PlayStation 2 version of Purple Haze was released in the UK, the advertisements included a quote from the Official PlayStation 2 Magazine, "Napalm never smelt this good". Following several complaints, these ads were banned by the Advertising Standards Authority on the basis that they were "likely to cause serious or widespread offence".
Despite some additional complaints that the entire advertisement glorified war and violence, the ASA only prohibited the use of the napalm line which Take 2 apologized for and removed from subsequent ads.
