As far as movie based games go, The Incredible Hulk is better than most in recent memory. As far as comic based games go, it's not bad either. Still, when compared to the last Hulk game, it feels like the game's already been done before, and on the last generation of consoles as well. For fans of Ultimate Destruction, the game may come across as a knock-off of what felt like a truly unique experience. On the other hand, if you've never played Ultimate Destruction, or if you have and just are itching to relive that experience on the 360, The Incredible Hulk is easily worth taking a look at.

Hooked Gamers
The Incredible Hulk for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 is a decent middle-of-the-road game. While it does have some very fun parts, including interesting action, and significant entertainment value in destroying massive skyscrapers and notable landmarks, the fun of these acts is reduced to rubble when you come across annoying glitches. Very poor graphics, slowdowns and frame rate stutters. Luckily most of the problems are either infrequent or can be overlooked if you are looking for a brief, fun, and destructive romp through New York. If you’re the kind of person who’d enjoy that, then I would recommend renting or purchasing this game, but if you are looking for a deep, engrossing action game, then move one as this game is not for you.

The word "good" should never be used when describing this game, but "entertaining" definitely fits it. Who doesn't love smashing stuff? The Hulk does it better than anyone, and it's captured quite well within this game.

For a movie-based game, The Incredible Hulk is an enjoyable experience, when things work correctly. Technical problems plague audio, visual and gameplay aspects, wholly detracting from a game with a nothing-special mission structure. For all of its faults, however, the essence of Hulk's strength and abilities have been captured and portrayed fairly well, with open-world destructibility at hand.

So while Incredible Hulk isn't a bad game, it's actually several steps backward from the last Hulk title. If you are a Hulk fan, this is a definite rental. But if you want the true Hulk experience, stick with Ultimate Destruction.

The Incredible Hulk is pretty much a straight sequel to Ultimate Destruction. Trouble is, Edge of Reality took out far more than it added. Though Hulk is a serviceable game that can be enjoyed over a weekend, it feels outdated. If you are a die-hard Hulk fan or the type who loves destroying treasured landmarks, then The Incredible Hulk is at least worth a rental.

In the end, The Incredible Hulk doesn't have the mad strength to keep up with the competition, thanks to the bonehead computer, nonsensical missions and irritating music. Still, for those looking to Hulk out, it's worth a rental.

I was really looking forward to this game as I was expecting it to be a great follow-up to Ultimate Destruction. Instead I received a very half-baked game that is very repetitive and becomes boring to play. The only fun this game offers is destroying everything in sight, but that gets old after a while.

The game has major issues. The graphics aren't that great and the realism is non-existent, the voice acting is plain awful and boring and the freezing/frame-rate issues are inexcusable. However, the game can be fun in the Crackdown-esque city romps. But alas, you can't just jump around the city forever and once you're done treasure-hunting, the terrible story and poor missions come calling. Definitely only a rental at best, but for fans of the Hulk I'd still suggest you give it a shot.

Again, Hulk isn't a bad game. It's instantly more fun than the recent slew of misguided Iron Man titles, maniacally satisfying if you enjoy wrecking havoc, and would likely sate those looking to extend their Hulk experience after watching the latest flick. A ton of side missions offer varying entertainment value, plenty of doodads to collect and power Hulk up with, and even a few cool alternate character skins for the green guy to wear. But I can't just quietly ignore the fact that a similar, but far better Hulk game (the best superhero game, for my money) sits on my shelf at home, and is readily available for anyone to track down. So be a hero and support an old gem if you're really in the mood to smash something.

Worth Playing
Much like the Hulk is both the best and worst that Bruce Banner has become, Sega's The Incredible Hulk shares the same problem. Running around as a green, humanoid wrecking ball in New York's sandbox of steel and concrete castles can be fun for a while until it starts feeling like a repetitive exercise in dealing with missions that try and enlist the Hulk as a nanny for stolen gear or have him destroy yet another group of bad guys who don't have the good sense to stay out of his way. Throw in the shoddy performance of the engine that dogs the repetitive gameplay at nearly every turn, and it can easily become an experience that can get your own blood boiling. Fans of the film or of the Hulk in general will probably get the most gamma dosage from this title, but even they might find that it works better as a weekend experiment.

It's never a good sign when the majority of a game's fun can be experienced within the first hour of playtime. Though tearing through New York City like an angry bull makes for some satisfying destruction, the overarching package is uneven and incomplete. The Incredible Hulk is a good idea forced into a gameworld that simply cannot keep up with Hulk's aggressive nature. For comic book completionists, there are plenty of unlockable comic book covers and playable Hulk variants. Everyone else will find nothing more then a short afternoon of mindless fun.

Overall there is something to be said for a game where more fun is to be had outside the mission storyline then in it, like some of the GTA series. But this title just can't seem to get everything in the right perspective, whilst some enjoyment can be had, there just isn't enough care taken elsewhere. The type of game they have produced isn't really aimed at the age group it's been set at, I would say the BBFC 12 rating is the ragged edge of the target audiences age group . If you are a huge Hulk fan however, you may just like it, but I'm afraid a rental is the best bet for this title.

The Incredible Hulk is an enjoyable experience that has been let down by bugs and glitches. If it had longer in development to iron them out then this would be a significantly better game. As it stands it’s a flawed and repetitive single player experience, that will only keep Hulk fans and those looking to relive some classic Rampage action happy

All in all, approach “The Incredible Hulk” game for what it is, and don’t expect miracles even though smashing things never really goes out of fashion and never proves to be anything less than fun.

Game Revolution
In the end, The Incredible Hulk is like so many Hollywood Summer blockbusters: It starts with a cool idea (Hulk destroying stuff) but, from there, grinds to a halt in terms of delivering on its promise. I won't say it's a bad game, because you can get a couple hours of fun out of it running around smashing stuff, but none of it stands out as being exceptional, or even well-done. I have a friend with whom I see most action movies with mediocre CGI and a lackluster story, and he often calls them “watchable”, which roughly translates to "it wasn't the worst piece of crap we've seen this summer". That being said, the Incredible Hulk is "playable" - very, very "playable".

MS Xbox World
If you absolutely must play it, then I'd recommend nothing more than a rental. I think as far as enjoyment goes, the Incredible Hulk offers a limited amount of that. The Incredible Hulk is more entertaining in small doses, just jumping in and rampaging around the streets, demolishing buildings, bad guys and vehicles - that is rather entertaining. Though it's very much a one trick pony as this is the only thing the game really has going for it, playing through the campaign will at times infuriate, and ultimately just becomes a very lackluster experience. It's no wonder that Banner sounds so lethargic and his alter ego, the Hulk, is so angered.

The poor technical quality of the game isn't quite enough to dim the innate amusement of thundering around New York as the Hulk, but it's certainly enough to drop this from "long awaited next gen remake of a great game" to "yet another movie tie-in that's only really good for a weekend rental".

Xbox World Australia (XWA)
The Incredible Hulk had a 50/50 chance of being a decent enough game, and it made the right move by leaning more towards the Ultimate Destruction Hulk title that rocked the original Xbox. Unfortunately the truly shoddy product that shipped to retail is unlikely to please anyone: it's buggy, glitchy, poorly optimised and visually unimpressive from a technical standpoint, and the missions are boring and the combat is repetitive too. If you can get past all that, rampaging through the city is decent fun and the way the game handles Hulk's upgrades is strangely compelling. None of these things redeem the game however, but don't get angry, just... don't get the Incredible Hulk.

Dommage.

The Incredible Hulk isn't the worst movie tie-in game ever made, but the initial charm of mass destruction dissipates rather quickly. This leaves it a rather buggy and joyless experience that, like a gumball, loses its flavor all too fast. To be quite frank, if you own an Xbox 360, Crackdown does a significantly better job with letting you create havoc in the name of justice. Those with a PS3 or Wii are better off fishing for a used copy of Ultimate Destruction for PS2 or GameCube, respectively.
