Little Racers Street
Description
Little Racers STREET is an arcade top-down racing game and the second title in the Little Racers series. Set in two cities, it contains over 200 different events based on 60 tracks with 41 cars, divided over six tiers based on performance. It contains four game modes: career, quick race, daily challenges and free roam. The career mode is the main one. Starting in the lowest performance tier, the player goes through different races, earning credits to upgrade cars or buy new ones to access tracks for higher tiers.
Cars are controlled through four keys to accelerate, brake and steer left and right. Three additional buttons are used to honk, use the handbrake and activate nitro. Nitro is charged while racing for a certain amount of bars. After depleting it, it takes some time before it regenerates. Races are often hectic with many cars on a single track, going through busy environments with lots of corners that require careful steering. Cars can also bump into each other. When too much damage is sustained, visual damage appears through smoke and the car's performance is affected. Other tracks elements are jumps, crossroads, and different handling based on terrain or weather such as rain, snow and night. Each race is based on finishing first and usually there are multiple laps.
In the main career mode the player starts at a very low rank with the goal to reach a first place. After each race credits are earned based on the finishing position, with a deduction for the repair costs. Extra credits can be earned by completing challenges such as reaching a certain rank or finishing positions for certain classes. The credits are spent to acquire new cars, with statistics based on power, turning, grip and nitro. Cars can only race in their designated class, but each car can also be upgraded a few levels to increase performance, even pushing it into a higher tier. It is also possible to downgrade cars or to sell back cars for credits. Cars are based on four class (FF, FR, MR and 4WD) with different handling.
Other elements in the career mode are the stop, a garage for paint jobs and time trials. There are different difficulty levels that determine how many credits can be earned. Races can also be done against local or online ghosts to improve the best times. The game supports online multiplayer in the career mode for up to twelve players, complemented with AI racers. While racing different camera perspectives can be selected.
