With classic role-playing elements and addictive combat mechanics, Magnacarta 2 is a solid game for RPG veterans looking for a new challenge.

К концу первого диска игрок будет вынужден трижды посетить многие локации – только ради того, чтобы на втором сразиться все с теми же противниками, пусть и существенно прибавившими в силе, еще трижды. Вдобавок, до самых финальных титров не покидает ощущение, будто бы слишком многое в MagnaCarta II сделано с оглядкой на конкурентов. Но не в том плане, чтобы получилось «не хуже», а чтобы обязательно было «точно как у них». Отсюда, например, и все многочисленные сюжетные штампы. Сильно ли это портит впечатление? В общем-то, нет. Скорее, игра всего лишь не в полной мере оправдывает возложенные на нее ожидания, а уж в этом-то уличить можно буквально каждую современную JRPG.

Anybody who has played more than a handful of JRPGs will find a game that feels all too familiar from the very outset. If you're fine with buying a game that will feel like you've probably played it before, by all means give Magnacarta 2 a shot. I'd say that newcomers would find more to like here, but the fact is that there are better JRPGs out there on Xbox 360 that I'd recommend as an intro to the genre before this middle of the road adventure.

Magna Carta 2 se trouve être un RPG qui souffre de beaucoup de défauts dans ce domaine : histoire vue et revue, mise en scène horrible, bugs dérangeants, durée de vie, hors quêtes secondaires, très limitée. Néanmoins, le jeu dégage un petit je-ne-sais-quoi qui encourage le joueur à continuer et à apprécier le système de combat qui mélange nervosité et gestion, ainsi que les subtilité du gameplay, comme la customisation des armes faisant penser au célèbre FF VII. Magna Carta 2 comblera vos heures creuses entre des poids lourds du genre sans que vous ayez à le regretter.

Magna Carta 2 struggles with irritating AI and a generic plot, leaving its high-speed battle system and impressive visual style as highlights to an otherwise banal adventure. Some combat aspects are enjoyable, but the game's shallowness and redundancy are uninspiring.

Sparsely scattered save points, un-skippable animations and cutscenes, and repeated locations and boss fights are anachronisms that will frustrate and alienate all but the most ardent traditionalist. For genre newcomers Magna Carta II’s few charms will be too nested in an awkward, difficult-to-learn idiom to be worth the effort while, for everyone else, Magna Carta’s uninspiring familiarity will breed little more than fresh contempt.
