Watchmen: The End is Nigh Part 2 isn't as exciting as the first episode, and that one wasn't exactly a smash hit to begin with. The story feels less fleshed out and the combat is as uninspired as ever. If you enjoyed endlessly and mindlessly beating up the same small handful of foes in the first episode, there's more waiting for you here. Might I suggest getting a hobby instead?
Despite the game being only three chapters long with off-line co-op, the whole package is quite simply awful, boring and dull, and with it being overshadowed and rightly so by Batman: Arkham Asylum and the slew of fantastic arcade titles we had over the Summer, anyone spending Microsoft Points on this dross is asking for a head examination. Steer clear, because this is the dark side of episodic content and let us hope we don’t see any more like this in the future.
Watchmen Part 2 therefore manages the rather impressive feat of actually being a worse game than its bone-headed predecessor. The gameplay is as leaden as before, but now there's even less of it, and a good chunk of it comes drizzled in an icky misogynist sauce. It's certainly the most unpleasant afternoon's gaming I've endured in a long time. If you can't find a better recipient for your Microsoft Points after the stellar line-up of the last month, you probably deserve every poorly rendered punch and kick coming your way.
