Description

The player takes the role of a soldier who is sent to investigate strange happenings in a weapon research facility. As it turns out, the plants have become big and mean and need to be stopped!

X S.E.E.D is a side-scrolling platformer with pixel graphics. The speciality is all weapons - which have to be picked up on the way - are seeds. When the player throws one of them on the ground, a plant grows. Examples would be temporary plants which shoot projectiles or grow large and hold up attacks from enemies for a time. The latter is important because the hero dies after a single contact. After three lives are gone, it is back to the beginning: there are no continues, no extra lives and no save games. Sometimes killed enemies leave behind weapons which, if already collected, improve their effectiveness.

The character himself has no direct way of fighting off enemies - except when Ninja Mode is selected. Then the attacking plants are replaced with traditional attacks and the gameplay becomes more similar to a traditional run-and-shoot game.
