Description
After having defeating the ultimate evil in his previous adventure, the great hero Adol stands on a sea shore, thinking about the fate of once peaceful Utopian land of Ys, while the wind is blowing at his read hair. Suddenly, Adol notices a bottle that was thrown onto the shore. It is a letter written in a foreign language. An unknown person asks Adol to come to his land and to save it from a mysterious evil. Adol decides to accept the offer, and thus his adventure begins again...
"Ys IV" is an action RPG with a combat style particular to the early Ys games. You should ram an enemy from the sides in order to hurt him. If you do it incorrectly, you will get hurt yourself. You can also use magic and position yourself strategically in battle so that the enemy won't be able to inflict damage on you.

There are two versions of Ys IV originally released in 1993.
Mask of the Sun for the SNES and
The Dawn of Ys for the PC Engine. Both are entirely different games by different developers with different stories, yet feature the same characters, setting and music.
