"Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner" faz seu predecessor parecer uma mera sombra.

There was a huge influx of “must have” games coming out within the past month, ranging all genres on all consoles. There is one game that I personally, have been waiting for, salivating at every screenshot and video, since the end of the first game: Zone of the Enders (or Z.O.E. for short). This game totally changed the way that game developers looked at creating a mech game for any console, with its tight controls and presentation. With the good there always is bad, the first one was too short, gameplay became a tad tedious, and the ending really was awful. Can this sequel correct the mistakes of its predecessor? Read on to find out!

Visually stunning with compelling gameplay. A must for fans of ‘Manga' and those who've ever fancied themselves as a ‘robojock'.

Zone of the Enders 2 is Konami’s act of reconciliation for the original version. It makes up for all of the flaws of part one, and is even an improvement upon the few things that the original got right. The game is indeed difficult, but for the right reasons. Finally, there is no better looking game on the PS2. While the world of 360 degree fighting can be hard to get used to, there is certainly an ample reward for those who do so here.

Players will also be disappointed with length: It's shorter than the original. However, the EX Missions and the Versus mode to add replay value. Although serious fans might have a hissy fit because of these faults, the high quality presentation and engaging combat will keep most happy.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner is a dazzling masterpiece of high tech production. Obviously a much-loved project by its renowned producer Hideo Kojima and designer Shuyo Murata, ZOE2 has taken admirable steps towards melding cinema with gameplay. The action-enabled counterpart to Namco's Xenosaga Episode 1, The 2nd Runner isn't so much a videogame as it is an all-encompassing experience.

Again, if you can accept the fact that the playtime is shorter than the running time of a Kevin Costner film. The 2nd Runner offers an explosion and highly fevered gameplay experience that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner epitomizes almost everything a sequel should be insofar as it improves upon its predecessor in every conceivable manner--and there was a lot to improve upon. The original Zone of the Enders was heavily criticized for its whiny protagonist, self-indulgent storyline about killing and war, and its gameplay, which ultimately fell short of delivering the epic anime-style mech battles that the game was so obviously inspired by. Conversely, that's one of many things, and probably the most important thing, The 2nd Runner does so well. The majority of the battles in the game are fast-paced and hectic, almost to the extent that it can be a little overwhelming at times. But thanks to its excellent controls and sheer depth, the combat system will ultimately be one of the reasons this game will keep drawing you back in even after you complete the single-player campaign.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner improves upon the original through and through. We're happy they got it right.. Now if they could throw in some customization and maybe some RPG elements, this runner would knock the competition right out of the zone.

In conclusione, più che consigliato agli amanti dell' action, e praticamente obbligatorio per i vari amanti degli anime coi robottoni.

Indeed, as we said in our preview of the US version of the game back in July, there is only one key criticism to be levelled at Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner - there simply isn't enough of it. The game is packed to the gills with imagination, stunning design and addictive, hugely varied gameplay - but while it triumphs in quality, it lacks in terms of quantity. We managed to plough through the main story mode in just over five hours, and while there's plenty more to explore in terms of VR missions and a fair degree of replayability (finishing the game unlocks new modes), it's still a disappointingly short experience.

The original Zone of the Enders was to be a landmark project, hailed by much of the press as the PlayStation 2's first true "system seller" -- two years later, it's now remembered as "that game that came with the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo." Konami has addressed many of the first game's most pressing issues, but a few others are either unaddressed or fumbled, keeping Zone of the Enders 2 from true greatness.
