Zoo Vet

Enter Zoo Vet, a piece of edutainment that, like its brethren, is highly hit or miss. For fans of the genre and of the subject matter, it's great fun. For anyone looking to try out something new, they'll be frustrated by some of the interface issues and load problems that the game presents to the world. The frustrations associated with the game are unfortunate since, underneath their sticky veneer, is a game that is challenging, rewarding and educational.

This is an uncomplicated and easy game that is average for a budget-type game. The mechanics are easy to learn, and young and old can both play. The game is fun to play at first, but there's really not much variety in gameplay, and although the animals' symptoms become more difficult to diagnose as play advances, it's still a really easy game which can be finished in a few days. There are a couple of mini-games, but they don't add much to the overall game.

Erst hielt ich den Zoo Tierarzt in jeder Hinsicht für ein hübsches, aber recht simples Kinderspiel. Mittendrin war es dann doch richtig knifflig, bei der Niereninfektion des Eisbären wäre mir der kleine Markus (der heißt wirklich so) fast abgenippelt. Aber schnell lernt man alle Abläufe auswendig und fühlt sich kompetent wie Dr. Doolittle – nur eben viel gelangweilter. Für Kinder sicher interessant, aber eine 10er-Karte für den Zoo kostet auch nicht viel mehr.
