Description

The Gauntlet scenario is revisited in this budget-price game in which Hobbo the Elf and Thor the Warrior are trapped underground, with 27 levels to fight through. Hobbo is armed with fireballs and Thor with axes.

Keys must be collected to open doors, spells must be collected and used as appropriate, and energy recharges can be collected. The two-player mode is competitive, with each player capable of harming each other. Monsters emerge from the walls as you travel, and must be either killed or avoided, as contact with them drains your energy.

At the end of the level there's no summary of stats such as points scored, demons killed, etc. Nor is there an apparent save point. Dawnssley ZX Spectrum Contact with demons & monsters drains energy - thus killing the player's character. The game, as can be seen, is not very sympathetic Dawnssley ZX Spectrum This is the start of the second level. Hobbo's energy has not been restored, it stays at the same number as at the last level Dawnssley ZX Spectrum As before Hobbo must collect keys in order to escape the first cell. Then he's in a monster packed room
