Description

La Espada Sagrada is an action game that consists of three phases, the third being more arcade-oriented than the first two. The protagonist Atahualpa Yupanqui aspires to obtain The Sacred Sword, and problems through the two early stages must be solved in order to find it. Then, in a third phase full of action, the hero takes advantage of that sword to be victorious.

The two early stages have no side scrolling, while the third one is an arcade with horizontal scroll and non-stop action and big sprites. To access levels 2 and 3 the player needs a code, which is provided once the previous stage is finished.

Screenshots

La Espada Sagrada ZX Spectrum This may look like a good jump but the character ends up in the water and dead. This jump is so hard that all lives were lost while attempting it, and this is just screen 2!
La Espada Sagrada ZX Spectrum The game menu. Here the game is being played with a joystick. Playing with keyboard does not offer any action key redefinition option
La Espada Sagrada ZX Spectrum The game starts here. The water bottle on the bottom left is filling up. Its a health indicator, if the character takes damage they can come back here to have their health restored
La Espada Sagrada ZX Spectrum One screen further left. This must be crossed with a series of well timed jumps because the groups of spears will take a life, and the pointy green grass causes damage
