Description
New Wheels John? challenges you to run a used-car showroom. You must purchase facilities, giving you a choice between a sophisticated lavish operation or a shonky cheapskate outfit. You pick up cars to sell at auction, or by trading existing cars. Auctions involve upping your bids gradually against those of others. Once you have a car, it must be prepared for sale; do it properly or cheaply, the choice is yours. You must set the price of each car, with the Guideline amount, year and mileage to be considered.
Customers will either request a particular car, or tell you their price range. Choose which car to offer them from your stock, and decide whether to accept their bid. Others will want to sell or part-exchange their own cars. If they want a test drive, poorly-serviced cars will be found out. Random events include visits from the police, safety experts and salesmen.
Real model names (Capri, Corolla, 343) are featured, but not all the manufacturers are.

Trivia
Like most Automata games,
New Wheels John? includes a pop song on the B-side of the cassette. It has a dancey beat and car-themed lyrics in a vaguely-rhythmic rap.
The game's title alludes to 'Ullo John, Gotta New Motor?', a comedy song by Alexei Sayle.
