User review spotlight: Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar (DOS)
This game displays as the game loads
The player must next select their choice of controller. The text here scrolls through different colours to the accompaniment of an annoying electronic sound akin to a burglar alarm
After a brief animation the games begin. Note the reference to Borzak the big baddie
The game starts in a maze. Any contact with a blue wall means death (it's electro-charged or something). Doors open automatically though and there doesn't seem to be any need for keys
Death by wall
I think that behind these barriers are aliens that should be shot
The bad guys behind the barriers are hard to shoot. They move fast and bounce bombs around the room making staying in one place a dangerous thing to do
Some rooms like this have baddies behind every door
Game over. After a while, if nothing happens, the background begins to strobe and later still the player is returned to the main menu
