I'm serious: RG wants your DNA!

Apparently there is a contest in Tabula Rasa whose winners have the opportunity to send their DNA into space with Richard Garriott. And it seems to be a serious thing. And I must say I'm both impressed and dumbfounded at this.

Just read the projects official page.

I mean, it's cool how RG keeps breaking the fourth wall between his game worlds and reality - just remember the old Ultima knick-knacks and the contests to have your picture in an Ultima game, but this is totally beyond anything. It feels weird and not in a good way, but also quite cool somehow. I mean, it's not what game designers usually do - go out into outer space and store your DNA inside a space station, now is it? And I really want to say that this somehow proves that MMO's are evil, but I don't know how.

Anyway, what are your thoughts about this?
