Well the transition period is officially over. The games industry has been traditionally a cyclical business. Revenue and profits have historically been flat when there is no clear dominant console system. Once a single system hits critical mass the sales and profit growth in the industry is amazing. With more money being spent more games get made. At E3 Sony has declared itself the winner with over 30 million units of it's PS2 console shipped worldwide. Electronic Arts, President and COO, John Riccitiello agrees saying the PS2 has won this round. Revenue is up 43% making the industry just shy of the $10 billion mark. We are entering the next golden age of gaming.
