Well as I mentioned before we are having a bumper year for solid games, but console system shipments have dropped by almost 50%. In-Stat/MDR is predicting that worldwide shipment of PS2, Xbox and GC will be 19 million compared to 35 million last year. It looks like this could be the beginning of the transition to the next generation of systems. Now that is not necessarily bad news. With console sales declining the manufacturers will most likely reduce prices. Could we see sub $100 prices in the future? Also it still means there are 19 million more console systems out there and for the publishers it means 19 million more potential customers. Regardless I am looking forward to the next gen systems and what the new games can do on them. Give me my MMPOG GTA 4 on Xbox 2. W00t!
