Wow. I was away from Moby for the holidays. I went back to Chicago and spent Thanksgiving with the family. Lots of fun and at least one extra hole in my belt later I see that the delegation of approvals is working quite nicely. There still are a couple approval items that have not yet been delegated, but that should be in the next rev pretty soon. We also changed the
MobyStore around a lil. Nothing major, just got rid of CD Universe for consoles and such. Their prices really stink for hardware.

For all those who live in America: Happy Turkey Day! I would've put up a Thanksgiving-related Game of the Week today, except that I can't recall any that deal with Thanksgiving. :-)

One of the problems of living in a small town in the middle of
nowhere is that the closest computer store is over a three hours drive. But that didn't stop me from making my pilgrimage to Software Etc to pick up my Xbox along with Oddworld, Halo and Dead or Alive 3. I've got to say my first impression is 'Oh my god!'. Needles to say, I'm really impressed, it's the power and graphics of a PC gaming system with the ease and simplicity of a console.

With the release of the Xbox yesterday, we've started accepting game submissions for that system. We've also set up
xbox.mobygames.com. Once we get about 10 game entries or so, we'll add a link to xbox.mobygames.com on the left panel. Untl then you can add xbox games to the database with the
game wizard. It's an exciting week for gamers.

Are you sick of seeing my PS2 featured game of the week? Why not write your own? Increase your MobyScore and highlight one of your favorite games. We try to have at least one new featured game every week so you'll likely see your name in lights. Go to the
featured game wizard and write one today.

In case you didn't scroll all the way down :-) there's a new feature article up by John "Exodus" Robertson that is an effective primer on the emulation scene. Grab a sandwich and give it a read.

We are going to be adding Xbox and Gamecube platforms very shortly. We would also like to add Mac as a supported platform however all of us are PC guys and don't know much about Macs. We need an exhaustive list of all the various technical specs and game requirements for the Apple Macintosh computer system over the years. Any Mac people out there????? Email to
contributions@mobygames.com.

We've rolled out a new release with some exciting new features. We've been working hard on our approval system to allow us to handle the increases in submissions more quickly and to allow us to delegate more of the approvals to you, our users. If you are interested in helping out with approvals, you can submit an appliciation
here.
We've also added a portal for codes/cheats/hints and walkthroughs. If you are looking for codes, or want to contribute codes, you can do it at one of our new sites
http://codes.mobygames.com/. This once-buried information is now much quicker to access.
We've also added the
MobyStore where you can buy console systems (including the xbox and gamecube) and Moby Merchandise.
There have also been several small changes here and there. One worth noting is that you now have the ability to add games to your have/want lists with one click from any game page. Look under the User Actions menu.
