An official merry Xmas/happy holidays from MobyGames!
Honestly, MobyGames is mainly YOU all - contributors and readers - but from myself, Reed (owner) and Tracy Poff (coder), as well as all the site admins and approvers, thanks for your great work on MobyGames over the last 12 months.

We've added over 15,000 games this year - likely an all-time record - and are doing a good job of keeping up on console digital releases, as well as filling in the blanks with Game & Watch handhelds, mainframe games and more.

Our goals for 2018? Keep up the good work, keep giving researchers and non-profits access to our API, and try to get some neater visualizations of our data live as we keep working on a revamped website. Happy Xmas!

What was the favorite game you played in 2017?
Well, it's almost the end of 2017, so rather than ask 'what was your favorite game of the year?', I know that a lot of MobyGames contributors and readers don't necessarily play, uh, new games.

So here's the alternative question - what's the best game that you played during 2017, whether old or new, and why? (And a happy upcoming holidays to you all!)

Reminder: MobyGames has an API that you can use!
For those who didn't spot it - yes, MobyGames has an API that you can use for non-profit, non-commercial purposes.

Here's more information about it and how to access it, if you're interested. (And we do have a commercial license if you need to use it that way too!)
