I've just performed the very unfortunate task of rejecting almost 30 submitted covers today because most of them were taken without permission from
ExoticA!, a
fantastic Amiga nostalgia site.
Guys'n'gals, you can't just steal stuff from one web page to stick on another. That's not how it works.

Just a quick note: Yes, we are sorely behind on communications (ie answering email). Don't worry; we are indeed getting your email, but having a hard time answering it on a timely basis. Rest assured that we're not blowing you off, and you can expect a response in the next five days.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get to game entry approvals as quickly as I'd like. I'll dedicate a couple of hours tonight to the task (there are a lot of entries awaiting approval that need fixing, and even more pending), so look for a lot of new entries added in about 12 hours.

I'm back! While Brian has been
cruisin' around the USA, I've been moving all of my computer equipment to another location. You may or may not have noticed that database approvals are happening again. This is because I've finished moving and have managed to get a bubblegum-and-shoestring network setup working.
In other news: A big thing will happen in about 3 weeks -- not directly MobyGames related, but it will impact MobyGames in a very positive way. Don't you just
love secrets? I'll mention what it is when it happens.

Just in case it wasn't clear from the last news item, I won't be keeping up with email for the next few days, both personal and Moby, as I move my home computers to another location. Just letting you know, in case anyone was wondering what happened to me.

I've been holding down the fort while Brian's on vacation (see
his Route 66 website for details on
that journey), but for the next few days, I'm going to be without a regular 'net connection. So if approvals and corrections seem a bit slow, that's why. Expect everything back to normal before next weekend.

Okay, we're all back up and rarin' to get to contribution approvals again. Why have we been waiting? Because up until two hours ago, email was still down. And without email, nobody gets confirmation of approvals. And that makes MobyUsers unhappy, right?
Needless to say, you should see more stuff popping up in the next 24 hours.

Outage Update: Our email is still down, so for those of you no doubt clamouring to ask us what happened, sit tight: We should have email back up in 24 hours.

Hey, we had some problems with our power and it brought our systems down all weekend. Everything is back up and running. We really appologize for the service outage. Of course donations of UPS systems are gladly welcome :)

Jeremy Williams, disc editor for PC Gamer magazine, astutely noted that the top result of our current "what adventure series sucks" poll is the same as our "what adventure series rules" poll of a few weeks ago. Ultima, take a bow: You've managed to both please and piss off your loyal fans. :-)
