I've rolled out a new release which makes some you will want to read about....
GameSheet Reorgination
Up until now, a game sheet presented an amalgamated view of the
game across all platforms for which it was released. As we add more
platforms, this view has become more confusing and cluttered. In order
to address this problem, games are now displayed by platform. On the
game sheet, to the right of the box cover, you will notice that there
is one line displayed for the selected platform, and another line that
lists the other platforms the game was released for. Clicking on one
of those platform names will take you to the game sheet for that
platform. Formerly, clicking on the platform would take you to the
game browser. If you still want to see the game in it's combined view,
there is a link next to the selected platform that will do that.
Update to Quick Search
The Quick Search has been revamped to tie in to the changes above.
Additionally, more features have been added. Quick Search now takes
platform into
account when searching for a game. You can enter search
for Tony Hawk Playstation,
or Tonk Hawk xBox
or just plain Tony Hawk
and get three different result sets. Additionally, more information is
displayed about the game (publisher, year, platform, and a small
cover if available). The search has also been rewritten to work
better with the other MobyGames sites (
pc.mobygames.com,
dc.mobygames.com,
psx.mobygames.com, etc).
Check out this search to see
an example. When searching from one of these sites,
all games related to that site will be displayed first in their own
category. If other games are found outside of that site, they will
be displayed seperately with a working link back to www.mobygames.com.
Changes to the contribution process
- The contribution of technical specs / game attributes has been
completely rewritten. Information can be contributed for any game,
regardless of wether or not there already exists tech info.
Additionally, the ability to correct existing tech info has been
added to the interface.
- Submissions can be abandon. Up until now, there was no way to
abandon a submission if you decided for some reason that you didn't
want to complete it. On the home page when you are presented with
unfinished items, there will be an additional link that allows you
to delete the submission.
- Banner and margin ads are no longer displayed on any of the
contribution pages.
- Some performance improvements have been made to the credit
submission process. Along with various other changes and bug fixes.
