Description official descriptions

PaRappa The Rapper 2 is the sequel to PaRappa The Rapper. Defeat the Noodle Syndicate by rapping your way through various levels. On each level there is a teacher that raps a phrase, and you repeat each phrase by tapping various combinations of buttons in response to the teacher.

The game is mostly a single player game, but after you finish a level, you can return to it and play Head-2-Head with the computer or another player.

Your friends from the first game are back, including Sunny Funny (the girl of your dreams), Moosesha and Chop Chop Master Onion. And don't forget.... You Gotta Believe!

If you prefer quality over quantity, this game shouldn't be missed.

The Good
The music: THE most important part of any game in the rhythm game genre that PaRappa actually started. The music is too good to be called "great". Silly lyrics and subject matters, and great instrumentation. Never in any other PlayStation game will you hear anything like this.

The graphics: They don't make a game in most occasions, but they can add to its charm. And it does just that for PaRappa. Seeing a paper-thin rapping dog and his friends in a 3D environment is truly unique, and most importantly, IT STANDS OUT. That's the best way to attract potential players; make your game look totally different from the others.

The length: Here's the good side; Despite the game's short length, replay value does make up for it; every time you replay the game after completing it, it gets a little bit harder... ...quality over quantity, my people. It's better playing a really short game like PaRappa 2, where that condensed burst of greatness gets a hold of you, rather than playing a really long, bad game.

The gameplay: Very simple concept (tapping buttons to the rhythm of the music), but also ridiculously difficult to master. I found it pretty easy however, with my experience of the other PaRappa games.

The Bad
The obscurity: I never heard of PaRappa until 2015, and this held me back in getting this game. The PaRappa series appears to be pretty unheard of ever since the glory days of the PS1 passed by, and this was the last game to be released (in 2002). Did hiding in the shadows kill PaRappa?

The length: Here's the bad side. My brother completed this game's 8 levels in one sitting within the space of an hour.

The Bottom Line
Those who prefer games that are either: - Unique - Favour quality over quantity - Based around great, original music - Insanely addictive, and/or - Relatively unheard of... ...then PaRappa The Rapper 2 may be the game for you.
