Clock Tower
- Clock Tower (1995 on SNES, 1997 on Windows, PlayStation...)
Description official descriptions
Originally titled Clock Tower II, this game is a sequel to Clock Tower. You must stop a disfigured mass murderer named Scissorman who has been terrorising the citizens of Norway in this full 3D point and click adventure, but watch out: Scissorman will be after you!
The game is spread across three scenarios (including a prologue at the start). Through the course of the game, people are being killed one by one by the notorious Scissorman. Once Scissorman shows up, you will have to find a hiding place or something to knock the Scissorman out with. Between levels, there is also an intermission in which the player can take a look around the town before going onto the next level.

BEST...ADVENTURE...GAME...EVER...EVER!!!!
The Good
Freaking everything! The presentation is great, the graphics while, not perfect, do set the mood, the music is catchy, and the sounds creepy and awesome. Scissorman is like the best evil villain around in a video game, the game is incredibly scary, without the huge amounts of blood and gore, don't get me wrong there is blood and gore in it, but not a whole lot. The controls couldn't be any simpler, use the directional pad to move the mouse, and the X-button to select stuff on the screen, so easy, even your little sister could do it. There is excellent re-play value, there are 10 endings, 5 for Jennifer, and 5 for Helen, there is 3 secondary characters to play as, Gotts, Nolan, and Barton for the prologue, plus scissorman is random, so you never know what he is up to next, my favorite thing about it.
The Bad
Well, there is one thing... VOICE ACTING! The voice acting is horrid, it is badly done, and to make matters even worst, there is barley even any in the game, only for certain moments, key moments, other moments your just reading big subtitles, but that isn't that bad, now is it.
The Bottom Line
This is the best adventure game you could ever play on the playstation, it may be slow paced at times, (the way I like it) but it is a really fun game, don't miss out!

One of the most under-looked games of all time.
The Good
Almost everything. The story is fantastic, the atmosphere is scary, the villain is one of the best in gaming, the sound sets the mood perfectly, and even though they don't hold up today, the graphics looked good in 1997. Gameplay is point and click, but it's a solid fit for a horror/adventure game like this.
The Bad
The voice acting and the text-heavy sections. Somewhat slows down the game and boars me to tears.
The Bottom Line
Clock Tower is a rock-solid survival horror adventure that takes elements from slasher movies and old point and click games. Everything about the game but the dialogue heavy sequences and the poorly translated voice acting are amazing. A must have for adventure and survival horror fans.

The Good
Scissor Man is one scary guy. in the game he will
constantly pay unexpected visit to your character which
would make you rattle in your boots if your in the dark
home alone.
The Bad
Everything. great music, great enemy, and great cast of
characters.
The Bottom Line
One of the most successful games since Resident Evil.
would make a good birthday present, and Christmas present.

Trivia
Plot
Ever think that the story in Clock Tower seems like a sequel? Well, Clock Tower as we know it is known as Clock Tower 2 in Japan. The original Clock Tower: The First Fear was released in Japan only on the SNES and featured Jennifer, the traumatized girl from this game, in a creepy mansion with other teenagers trying to escape the clutches of the evil Scissorman. It was later ported to other platforms, but only in Japan.
Scissorman
While there isn't any official statement from the developers of the game, the Scissorman murderer of the Clock Tower series seems very influenced by the Scissorman character from "Struwwelpeter", a collection of rather morbid cautionary tales for children written by Heinrich Hoffman, a Victorian-era asylum doctor from Frankfurt who wrote and illustrated this collection of stories to educate his three year old son. The title has been often linked to cases of child trauma. The Scissorman is in the book the person who punishes naughty little kids that continue to suck their thumbs... with a pair of giant scissors.
