Description official descriptions

Corpse Killer is a full-motion-video (FMV) shoot-'em up. It seems the evil genius Dr. Hellman has found a way to raise the dead and created an island of zombies. The player is an elite special forces soldier who has been parachuted onto the island; it is up to them to shoot their way through the undead hordes and stop Dr. Hellman.

The game is played from a first-person perspective. Various zombies pop up in front of a video background and the player must shoot them down either by moving a mouse cursor on-screen or by using a light gun.

The Saturn version has a few different features, including extra power-ups and additional enemy footage.

Ground Zero Texas Meets Night of the Living Dead

The Good
Ground Zero Texas is one of my favorite full motion video games and I really wanted to like Corpse Killer. To its credit it does feature impressive full motion video, impressive B-acting, actual tropical locations and lots and lots of zombies.

The Bad
The game starts out right, especially with the improved hardware of the Sega 32X, but the overall execution is simply too frustrating and repetitive.

Gameplay is reduced to a tropical shooting gallery that you must repeat over and over again to collect health and special ammo. The former stalls the zombie infection spreading in your blood and the special ammo is needed to kill the zombies guarding the mad doctor inside his gated compound.

It is difficult to aim with just the controller and just amazingly painful to quickly toggle between your regular and special ammo during the shooting gallery.

The Bottom Line
Corpse Killer is a full motion video game that looks and sounds pretty cool, in a campy, B- sort of way, but has little in the way of game play that will sustain you for any length of time.

It has that annoying level of difficulty found in Double Switch, with less storyline or different locations to explore. The shooting game itself play is just not as fun as in Ground Zero Texas or other games like Who Shot Johnny Rock and Mad McCree.
