Description official descriptions

Voodoo Vince casts the player as a voodoo doll named, what else, Vince. Vince's owner, Madame Charmaine, has been kidnapped by Kosmo the Inscrutiable because of her valuable zombie dust. During the kidnapping, a bunch of zombie dust spills, warping reality. As a one foot bag of straw, it's up to the player to rescue Madame Charmaine and keep the zombie dust out of Kosmo's hands.

Throughout the game the player will have to contend with a variety of bad guys, from alligators and bees to imps and demons. Players can use standard platforming attacks, like a spin and a head dive, but also have magic voodoo at their disposal. To use voodoo, the player hurts themself, thereby hurting their enemies. Players may pull out a big magnet that causes a debris of heavy metal objects to squash them, killing nearby enemies, or they can summon a UFO to attack them with laser blasts.

Each level is littered with different pickups that not only assist players but will allow them to reach 100% completion. Picking up skulls will add another voodoo icon, letting the player use more voodoo powers. Other items will extend the health bar or provide certain powerups.

Madame Charmaine needs you! Get to it!

Average platformer with great graphics and music

The Good
The game has great graphics and music and fit perfectly with the New Orleans setting, and unlike a lot of games, it has good voice acting as well. The game has some interesting puzzles where you must use your voodoo powers to injure yourself and defeat some bosses and monsters. The script is well written and can be funny at times.

The Bad
While the graphics and music are very nice, the platforming aspects of the game are only average. If you've played other 3-D platformers like Banjo-Kazooie, you won't find anything new gameplay wise. The game is also very short, I managed to complete it in only seven hours and there is really no reason to play through it again.

The Bottom Line
If you're a fan of platformers, you'll enjoy this game's unique setting, and its good graphics and music. The use of voodoo powers to solve powers adds a twist to the genre and the game may be worth buying if you find it for a low price. Otherwise, just rent it because you'll probably be able to finish it since it's a very short game.

I'm a Voodoo Doll, pointdexter.

The Good
Now, I'm not sure about you, but each platform/adventure game on the market always turns out as a Mario or Sonic rip off. The games created always share similarities between those games First things first, Vince is a Voodoo doll, at the beginning of the story, zombie dust brings him to life and he must safe his creator (Madama Charmaine) and fight the evil Kozmos and monsters. (Storyline, seen before huh?) Despite perhaps this, Voodoo Vince is very original. The character is very cool and has a nice attitude, he use a variety of moves he can do. He can jump really high and hover if need be. He has the ability to pick up items, which interact with his actions and the actions around him. He has two basic attacks, Punch and Spinmove, which can all be comboed to create other attacks nicely. When Vince kills or injures a monster he can collect small blobs known as beads. Different beads do different things. Some heal and some increase Vinces Voodoo Power. When Vince has enough Voodoo power he can access Voodoo power and kill all nearby enemys. There are many different kinds of Voodoo power he can use. It plays as a nice game, each level has it's own unique style of gameplay with a load of nice vechiles to use. Vermin the Rat, Fanboar, Submarine, Rocket Plane...etc... there are many things you can find for Vince, such as Spellbooks which reveals Power Skulls, Health Meters, Heart and Zombie Dust bag. It's single player mode is challenging and fun. Well, I say that, probably because theres nothing to do besides Single Player mode. The big drawback of this game is there is no other options asides Single Player mode. Perhance creating a bit of a bad replay value, some would say. Nevertheless, it's a fun game for a fun person. This game has a nice pick up and play aspect. It doesn't take long to get used to the controls and it works really well. The Music is great fun, it has a really cool catching jazzy theme, spiced up with some humour in between cutscenes. (No corny voice acting.) Cough Sonic Adventure 2 Cough In fact, this game is one of the funniest games I've ever played. Things like "The Grim Reapers says hi." just after Vince returns to life is a cool aspect and will keep you going.

The Bad
Not much.

The Bottom Line
Overall, Voodoo Vince is a cute platformer that plays well, Vince, himself is great character, as this game is a great game. It has good graphics, good gameplay, nice humour and adds a new element to the Platform genre. Kudos to MS and Beep Industries.

Two Kung Fu Movies For The Price Of Three!

The Good
In Voodoo Vince you play as Vince a voodoo doll you must rescue his master Madam Charmaine who has been kidnapped by Kosmo the Inscrutable and his henchmen Jeb and Fingers that shouldn’t be too hard since these guys are morons and Kosmo is pretentious and also stupid throughout the game you’ll run into many interesting characters like surly gas pumps, piggy banks of doom, a psychotic doll, Professor Ethel, and a New Orleans chef.

In the game you fight many enemies like Gingerbread men, Giant Gators and crawfish you kill them the only way a voodoo doll knows how using voodoo powers ranging from drive-bys, William tell arrows, shark attack, and running with scissors you can also punch or spin attack because voodoo powers are best reserved for bosses and hordes or enemies cause you have limited times you can use it as the game goes on you can increase your life bar, and voodoo power the bosses range from Fossilized dinosaurs, tornadoes, and psycho dolls.

This game is very humorous with many jokes including the humorous things the animals say in the level where you have to make sausages out of ground up animals for some jambalaya and most bosses have a special way to defeat them.

The music and sound effects work extremely well with a very New Orleans style of music and quality voice acting and good graphics.

The Bad
This game does have some annoying platforming and some of the bosses can be like the statue and the two headed laser beam eyed lizard.

The Bottom Line
This game is a great Xbox platformer and a largely overlooked game so much so the company that made this Beep Industries is now under this being the only game under their belt you can play this game to not pass up the opportunity.
