Hitman III
Description official description
Hitman III is the third and final game in the World of Assassination trilogy, a subseries of the main Hitman franchise, started with Hitman: The Complete First Season in 2016. This entry continues the large freedom in approach to control Agent 47 in his assassination missions. New elements introduced in this entry are security keypads, time limitations, and 47's camera/scanner. Shortcuts are a new element where for instance lowered ladders become persistent across attempts. There are no multiplayer modes: Sniper Assassin is single player and Ghost Mode is removed. The PS4 version has support for virtual reality, a first for the series.
The missions bring the protagonist to six new locations: Berlin (Germany), Chongqing (China), Dubai, Dartmoor (UK), Mendoza (Argentina) and an epilogue set in the Carpathian Mountains (Romania). The ongoing story is continued and with more focus on it. At the start of the game the team of Agent 47 wants to extract information from Arthur Edward (the Constant) who has captured at the end of the previous game, with the ultimate goal to get closer to the secret society Providence Partners.
For PC, PlayStation and Xbox players are able to manually carry over progress inside the same console/system family from Hitman 2 as well as from the first Hitman locations through the Legacy Pack (player profile, XP rank, location mastery levels, location mastery unlocks, challenge progress, challenge unlocks and Elusive Target suits/unlocks). For Stadia progress from the first two games is carried over automatically.
This game also brings improvements to the previous two games. Owners can access the missions, locations and content of both previous games free of charge inside the same console/system family, bringing over both games entirely inside Hitman III free of charge. Unlocked items can be used across all three games and the graphics, animations and AI from the third game are brought over to the first two. Players who do not own the previous two games can buy them through Access Passes. This also applies to the Switch version for which this is the first release of the game for the platform. Owners of the PS4/Xbox One disc version receive a next-gen upgrade for their next-gen disc system free of charge.
