Description official descriptions

The mighty god Odin goes from time into deep sleep. During the time of such an "Odinsleep", the mischievous god Loki stole from Odin his favorite land, Midgard, and populated it by monsters. But Odin has a son - Thor, the god of thunder. Using his powerful hammer Mjolnir, Thor must travel to Midgard, face Loki and his assistants, and reclaim the land for his father.

God of Thunder is an action game with strong elements of puzzle-solving. Thor explores Midgard, fighting enemies in action-based combat, using his hammer or lightning attacks. Many hazards are there to make the hero's life difficult, and the player must solve puzzles to protect Thor and advance the story. The puzzles range from simple exercises in re-arranging objects to more complex examples that occupy the entire screen. Most of the game is viewed from a top-down perspective, though there are platform sequences as well.

Not the best in the world, but still a fun game.

The Good
Although most reviewers (the 9 year old types) will look straight at the graphics, sound, etc. and scoff, the hardcore gamers who realize that visuals aren't everything will (hopefully) see a great deal of depth in this game. It has a plot, not like the type you'll see in Final Fantasy, but one nonetheless. I enjoyed its simplicity and lack of tedious puzzles. Sure, some of them might require some thinking, but its not anything to worry about. If you're looking for a top-down game thats fun, try this game.

The Bad
Unfortunately, the cartoonish look to the game will probably turn most gamers away. The sound is nothing to brag about, but thats why there are speakers, right? The plot is virtually non-existent, and some "fattening up" might have been needed for a good sequel.

The Bottom Line
It's hard to describe any game to another, seeing as how all of our opinions and likes/dislikes tend to differ. For the sake of simplicity, I'll just say this: "If you want a simple game thats fun and amusing, try GOT. If you're looking for the next Zelda or Final Fantasy, look away. This is a classic."

Great game for 8 years old

The Good
It is a simple game with many posibilities, that gives the young player a chance to use strategy, think ahead, and use memory.

The Bad
Did not find anything I didn't like.

The Bottom Line
If you have a kid between 6 - 10 years old, give it a try. They will be glued to it easily.

A passable game I do not particularly like.

The Good
This is a rewrite of a previous review and I have not much to say, so I'll keep this short: reasonable (if amateurish) graphics, decent music and some plot. Also, the game engine is very smooth on slow machines.

The Bad
The puzzles were all very easy, the sound effects were utterly horrible and even after a few hours the game seems completely static.

The Bottom Line
Personally, I don't think this game is worth the time I spent on it.
