Fun "SMASH" game, but not much else.

The Good
Let's be honest, we all want to be the Hulk sometimes and this game give you that and then some! It is loads of fun to smash, punch, kick, slam, bash, stomp, backhand, sonic clap, and generally pulverize everything in your path! If you've had a bad day, put this baby on the Game Cube put on some nasty kickass rock and let fly! Not only can you as the Hulk destroy enemies, but buildings, cars, tanks and most anything that you come across. Your basic moves as above also become enhanced with a "build up" technique, turning them all into "super attacks". You can also pick up pipes, cars, debris, drums of gas/tnt/nitro etc and use them too!
Every once in a while you become the "ENRAGED" Hulk, with extra whomp added to your attacks. (Yes, an angry Hulk becomes even more pissed off!! Yikes!) The graphics are nice, lots of detail, lots of interaction. The buildings have clean lines, the worlds sharp and crisp, which makes some of the lighting effects blossom and sparkle! The cinematics between stages are unique in that they seem to be animated from film, very realistic cel drawings! Nice touch. The voice overs are good, with none other than the star of The Hulk, Eric Banna reprising his role as Bruce Banner. Dramatic, but not overdone.
Some easy to average puzzles, along with a stealth mode between "Hulk" fighting! Gives you a break and is a nice change of pace. Not a brain game, but gives you a satisfied feeling.

The Bad
Once you get an idea of how to use your Hulk abilities, there is not much of a challenge to this game. The levels are pretty much the same, which is: smash your way, as Hulk, through the level, pausing to do some small task (ie smash a control box or power station). Or sneak around as Bruce Banner, using "smarts" and break codes, enter restricted areas to find cures, clues etc. The only thing that changes is that the levels become harder as they go up, with more bad guys, new ones with harder weapons, gamma dogs, tanks, helicopters, joining in to try and stop your climb through the levels.
There isn't much more about this that gives you any challenge. Which is why you should be prepared to lose a lot as you go. Without any kind of serious challenges, the only way they could have filled this game out, is how they did just that: Extreme Difficulty!
I don't mind making games hard, but there are some levels which are so hard to get through, they make you throw your controller away and turn off the game in frustration!
There is no interaction with anyone else in the game, except in the cinematics where you simply watch. The ONLY interaction you have is fighting. You fight the super bad guys, scientists, various soldiers, and that's as both the Hulk AND Bruce Banner. I fully expect the Hulk to do that, he really isn't a talkative guy! Lol. But Banner either is sneaking around, breaking computer codes or fist fighting with the bad guys.
A bit boring by the 4th level.

The Bottom Line
The production values are great for this game, and it IS fun to "HULK OUT" for fun. It lets you get some aggression out! Let off some steam and smash a building to rubble, while punching out the bad guys too!
If you're looking for a solid time waster and had a bad day, play the Hulk for a half hour, you'll feel better.
If you're looking for a deep, spy, puzzle, or strategic type of game, pass on this one. You'll be bored. A very simple fun time waster.

Good game!

The Good
The Hulk is awesome, period! The graphics and gameplay are excellent, with the added features (gray Hulk!) you've got a great game here!

The Bad
Although it did run on my system (533Mhz AMD <-----yeah, i know, it's gay) The recommended is 1Ghz, so there was some delayed controls and slow video but that's my problem. My only real gripe is length, the game was a bit short and the game doesn't exactly follow the comic book series but neither did the movie, meh!

The Bottom Line
Check it out! If you like the Hulk then you'll probably like this game.
