Description official descriptions

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is based on the movie of the same name, but with an extended story line. In 2032, the player is the T-850 model 101 Terminator, operating under Skynet control. He is captured and reprogrammed by Kate Brewster to help the human resistance, in addition to being ordered to cross the destroyed battlefields of Los Angeles and Hollywood and take over the Skynet base. Once the base is under their control, Brewster sends the Terminator back in time to protect her younger self and John Connor from the T-X, the technologically advanced female Terminator and Skynet's most lethal killing machine. The Terminator teams up with John and Kate in the present day on their mission to stop Skynet from starting World War III.

The game is a first-person shooter combined with hand to hand combat. The first-person mode features the Terminator Point of View (POV), showing the infrared heads-up information display seen in the movies.

The game is Ok, I guess.

The Good
The game is alright. The gun selection is decent enough. The levels are pretty good for the most part. The terminator actually looks like Arnold in the game, and sounds like him, which is a total thumbs up! T3 has a unique blend of a story, in which missions take place in the future, past, and present. It has a Terminator 3 Redemption demo that was totally cool, and some behind the scenes and stills, and more! The 3rd person fighting matches in the game are really cool, and overtime the terminator gains awesome battle damage in fights, in fact, when his health is down to 20, he starts to limp, and most of his T-850 parts are exposed, totally cool if you ask me. Good CG graphics.

The Bad
Oh boy, this game is full of bad stuff.

1.Blocky character designs

2.Besides the Terminator, all the other characters look nothing like/and do not sound anything like the actors.

3.A very annoying soundtrack.

4.Ultra repetitive. Gets old after the 3rd level.

5.Present weapons are lame.

7.You do the same thing over and over again, which makes for a very boring game.

8.Very little replay value.

9.Does not follow the story very well (The scenes and levels are not in chronological order, compared to in the movie).

10.Short game, easy levels. And I mean easy.

The Bottom Line
This game is alright. Not as good as the movie stars/ game creators said it would be. The game is so so. Its a time waster. I think you should try to stay away from T3. The movie sucks, and so does the game. Get T3 Redemption or Dawn Of Fate. I would personally choose Dawn Of Fate. The only thing that's cool about this game are the nice CG cut scene graphics, and the future weapons selection, and the T3 Redemption demo. If you excuse me, I am now going to go watch Terminator 2.

Trivia

Cancelled version

A GameCube version was announced, but was ultimately cancelled.

Development

According to Art Director Mark Soderwall, they crafted Schwarzenegger's model from his real measures. Afterwards they tweaked a few thing to make him look more Terminator-like, e.g. a bigger chest. In their approval meeting they talked with Schwarzenegger and his manager. While the manager had problems with every detail they changed, Schwarzenegger was very relaxed about the looks. His only suggestion was to make the chest even wider.
