Description official descriptions

Spider-Man and members of the X-Men have teamed up in this side-scrolling action game to fight against Arcade, who has built a giant amusement park for the sole purpose of trapping and destroying the super-heroes. You first play as Spider-Man, who sees the X-Men get kidnapped by Arcade and follows them. Once you make it inside Arcade's park you can choose to play as Spider-Man, Cyclops, Storm, Gambit, or Wolverine, each of whom are trapped in a different part of Arcade's maze of deadly traps. You must navigate all five of them safely out, using their different skills and abilities while defeating baddies and bosses along the way.

Terrible Game - the only reason to get this game is if you're tired of beating every game you buy cause they're so easy

The Good
Like? Hmm... actually, the controls are good and really easy to master. Wolverine's claw's have good sound effects and, uh, the picture on the front of the game looks cool.

The Bad
That the maker of this game made the game to be impossible to beat because he hated Mirage Comics. Seriously, there's a level you have to beat before you can actually start playing the real game. The music is annoying, gets stuck in your head and drives you crazy (especially the music on Wolverine's level!). Al the levels, except the first one, are ridiculously hard and when you get game over, which happens quite frequently since you only get like 5 lives, you must start over from the beginning and do the first level again, which is easy after the first few times and is mainly just a nuisance (one wonder's if the maker put it there on purpose just to annoy you). The most annoying this of all is it had the potential to be a great game but the maker chose to make it so hard that it was deemed impossible to beat. That sucks.

The Bottom Line
The hardest game you will ever find. if you have every other SNES game and have beaten all of them then get it. Otherwise, don't. Seriously, unless you are really stubborn and want a challenge really bad just don't get it. Trust me, I wouldn't lie. Well, maybe about a Gamecube game... but never a SNES game. if it was good, I'd tell you.

A Excellent Idea, With Less-Then-Excellent Implementation

The Good
Marvel comics often has team-ups with super heroes and villains alike. However, it use to be rare for such things to occur in a video game. The basic idea of a game featuring Spider-Man and several X-men as playable characters is an incredibly appealing premise for any fan.

The Bad
The graphics/sound are, at best, average for what was possible in a 16--bit video game. Part of this is just a hardware limitation, compared to the Super Nintendo, yet the Sega Genesis was capable of much better graphics/sound then this.

The second major problem was that the game was just way too darn hard! This was due to a combination of poor control design, undermining the heroes powers and not having much in the way of extra lives, continues or passwords.

The Bottom Line
Spider-Man and the X-men In Aracade's Revenge has a great premise to it, but only average graphics and sound and may provoke more frustration then fun from the player.
